How do I get the beehive off the paper? I don’t know what to do with it once it’s made..

I do show how to loosen the beehive off of the wax paper by using a needle tool towards the end of the video. This technique uses a template under wax paper and the pins are only to keep the quilling paper in place while you're working on your design. At the end of the video, I show how to remove your quilling from the paper so you can mount it on your final surface. The pins never go through the quilling paper.

Do you double the paper ?

For this project, I only doubled the strips to make the outside edges more secure, but if you’d like to experiment with doubling the inside strips as well, go for it. The can be difficult to keep double-thick strips smooth when you coil them though, so your scrolls may end up sort of wavy. You could also try using a heavier weight paper to get the same effect.
