Hi ! I just found your channel and am amazed at your beautiful cakes! I was wondering if I could use two 8 inch rounds for this recipe ?
@theapan48894 жыл бұрын
I would recommend looking up some useful cake batter conversion charts for future reference in case this question comes up again (if you bake, it almost certainly will). I think the conversion is one 8 inch cake = two 6 inch cakes, but I'm not sure for 7 inches. I think 2 8-inch should do just fine? but yeah you should def try printing one of those charts and stick it on your fridge if you bake a lot.

Hi Chelsea, I’m planning on making this recipe and a pink velvet cake. Would I omit the cocoa powder or keep it and add a little extra pink food coloring? Also, on the video you used 11/2 c of buttermilk but your recipe states 1 cup. I currently have 2 cups sitting on my counter to get to room temperature but I’m wondering if I need another cup 🤔 I hope you respond to my comment soon, I want to bake them tonight. P.S. I loved your black velvet recipe 😋 Thanks in advance!😀

Hi! I’m really enjoying your videos. I am a fairly new amateur baker and have bought a bunch of food colours that are really good for buttercream (except the red and the black) but are weaker when using them for cake batter. I know you have a link to Amazon for the red colour you used in this video but I can’t work out which one it is.... I am in the UK so not sure if that makes a difference. But I would love it if you could let me know which you use as I would like to buy the same. Thanks so much x

Also i put all the batter into one big cake pan and yeah i live in a hot and humid country. What should i do for getting a fluffy and not fudgey cake?
@Chelsweets5 жыл бұрын
Usually if a cake ends up dense, it's because you might be using too much flour (sometimes when you scoop out of a bag you end up packing a lot more flour into the cup than the recipe calls for (by weight), or you may be overmixing! Those are usually the two main culprits for dense cake layers
