I just tried this recipe and the cake was amazing, it tastes good even as is without the frosting ! as usual I expect nothing less from your recipes it didn't however get red, maybe it's because I used liquid food coloring instead of gel, it came out looking beautifully chocolatty so that's still great, thank you aya for all of the effort you put into your recipes

I will definitely bake this, one thing that really appeals to me is that the butter is melted together with the milk! I don't do well with creaming method, but this oil based plus melted butter method, I just loveeee 😍 Made your banana & chocolate banana cake and it's a staple in my house, killer recipe! Thank you for all your hard work even with a baby on the way! 🎉😍 Please don't stop making rich sinful cakes!

I just made this cake but in a mini loaf pan. I forgot to add sugar as guests came over at last minute and the sugar lay forgotten on the side 😬😬. When i mixed the wet with the dry ingredients, i knew I've done sthg wrong but couldn't tell what. It was only after the cake's been in the oven for 4 minutes that i noticed the sugar on the countertop. By then the sides had already set 😢. I let them bake with the intention of making it all over again tomorrow . For some reason, the mini loaves came out looking PERRRRFECT. IT HAD THE PERFECT CRACKS ON ALL OF THEM 🥰🥰. I wonder if they'll have them with the sugar too 😂. But hats off to Aaya for the perfect recipe. I'll make an update tomorrow.

If you use cake strips, available from Wilton or Amazon, the layers will not have a dome. Your cream cheese recipe works because you add the sugar to the butter before adding the cream cheese. Most recipes combine the butter and cream cheese before adding sugar, but it is sometimes a bit runny that way.

@PastryLivingwithAya5 ай бұрын
Hi! I’m not sure what kind of red powder that is but it might not work the best for this recipe. I highly recommend gel paste food coloring if to make the color bright. And one batch of the cream cheese frosting should be enough for about 2 dozens cupcakes.

Yay! Been waiting for this, thank you. 💜 Looks luscious and beautiful. I’m eager to try it. Question: I live in humid tropical weather so what kind of frosting is best to use for this cake that would not melt easily? A frosting not made with butter? 🤔
@PastryLivingwithAya7 ай бұрын
Great! If you want to leave the cake outside, I wouldn't do any buttercream or whipped cream based frosting. Most of cake frostings get looser under warm weather unfortunately. You can leave it in a room if it's cooling or store it in the fridge until right before serving (I recommend it the most!). I also recommend using cream cheese frosting to enjoy the classic taste; you may want to try Swiss buttercream + cream cheese, which should do a little bit better in a warmer enviroment.

@PastryLivingwithAya5 ай бұрын
I use a regular white vinegar (I think it is distilled), but you can also use other types of vinegar, such as apple cider vinegar or lemon juice if you can not get it somehow. I've never made it with buttermilk, but I believe you can! You probably want to reduce the amount of vinegar in that case. I hope it'll be a success!
