How to Make a Shot Put Ring | CHEAP | Under $100

This is how I made a cheap shot put ring for under $100.
Materials (you can buy on Amazon or at local hardware store)
- 4x8 Plywood
- Jigsaw
- Liquid Nails
- Caulk Gun
- 1” Screws
- Drill
- Measuring Tape
Quick Tutorial
1. Buy Materials
2. Cut 1 Sheet of Plywood into 8 Segments Each 1 Foot Long
3. Cut Segments to make Toeboard Arc
4. Glue/Screw 6-7 Segments for Toeboard (depends on thickness of plywood)
5. Glue/Screw 1 Segment for Back of the Ring
Additional Suggestions
1. Buy Plywood with a Thickness of more than 1/2 inch, but less than 3/4 inch
2. Use 1 Inch Screws for First Layer of Toeboard, but 1.25 Inch Screws for Rest
3. Alternate Positions of Screws Every Layer
4. Sand All Edges of Plywood
5. Paint Toeboard
I had most of the tools already so it actually only cost me about $60.

this is awesome! I've got a guy who is going to make this for me. Do you think it will slide in a garage if someone is drilling pretty hard with it?

It's possible it could slide, but a way to fix that would be to staple some type of non-slip rug pad gripper on the bottom.

Possibly, but I think it would be more susceptible to bending/warping and it would have an greater chance of sliding across the ground if not weighed down in the front

If you can find or make a portable shot put ring with a toeborad for cheaper, please let me know about it! $60 is all it took for me to make it because I could borrow some of the tools from my dad.
