It’s absolutely magic when the danish oil hits the wood, isn’t it? Easy project that looks so great when it’s finished! I’ve always had caveman looking results when using a holesaw for projects along with lots of smoke! That is until I saw a workshop tips episode on Acutabove Woodworking several months back. He makes a lot of wooden toys that require wheels, and the holesaw is his preferred weapon for making them. His trick for success is to drill a smaller hole (by smaller, I mean like 1/2” or so, the bigger the better) that overlaps the kerf area for the holesaw cut. This allows all that fine sawdust to evacuate the kerf instead of piling up in it and overheating the saw and wood! He drills the small hole on outside of the kerf since he’s keeping the “wheel”, but it’s just as effective on the inside as in y’all’s case! No smoke, no burned wood, I was like why did it take me 61 years to find out about this! I’ll stop rambling! Thanks for another great episode!
