Your bias is so showing!!! I’ve had both. The factory shaped patties and factory look of the in and out are typical California. Whataburgers are delicious. If you want a Texas treat try the Dairy Queen in Texas. Order the chili cheese burger. For a chain burger, they’re pretty good. Showing my bias? You bet!

California native. In-N-Out is really good. They finally came to the Boise area here so I can get one again whenever I want. I will say that Habit Burger and Culver's are also pretty good if there's no In-N-Out around, and Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has a "California Style Double" that's somewhat similar.

Never had in-n-out but I was excited to try whataburger when I lived in Texas. I was not impressed at all. Was basically a fancy version of Burger King. I maybe ate there 2 times the year I lived there because it wasn’t good enough to keep me wanting more.

I am from Louisiana. I used to love to eat a What a Burger whenever I was in Texas. A franchise opened up in my home town and for some reason their burgers were terrible.

Just like any other chain restaurant, there are good locations, and bad locations. I've had good In n Out and Crappy In n Out in California, and Arizona, and in Texas. Same with What a Burger, they're not all run the same. If you have a good one, thank your lucky stars.

Didn't make me mad, I quit eating that fast food garbage. Back in the day Whataburger was unmatched. Unfortunately they sold to investors from Chicago and both the quality and service have since cratered immensely. The location I used to go to here in Houston still had long lines after 10P on Saturday nights. Go by there now during prime rush hour at 7P and it is not nearly as busy. You can get a much better Texas style burger by going to a local sit down establishment or just making it yourself.

I live right up the road from where you were at. You will see the line at Whataburger consistently wrapped around the corner while In N Out's line is empty. That tells me everything I need to know!

I thought they both look good, but if we actually had the In N Our burger here in GA, I would definitely give it a try. We only recently got a Whataburger near me, and I liked the burger and the spicy chicken sandwich and the grilled one too. I liked that i could get Monterey Jack cheese instead of American and also grilled onions and Creamy pepper sauce. Bottom line, now I want a burger.

I wish you would have tried Whataburger before 2019. . In 2019, the fast-food restaurant announced merchant bank BDT Capital Partners, LLC based in Chicago was taking over the chain. Went downhill real fast.
