Can't wait to smoke a whole chicken when my Ninja Grill comes! Most people recommend tying the legs together before you cook. Supposedly it makes a big difference on how juicy it comes out! It holds in the juices and maybe the skin won't split open as much. Thanks for the great video!

CJ I just got a ninja XL connect about a month ago . The Ninja folks are great they upgraded being I had just bought the smaller no Bluetooth. I asked sales guy if this was the latest and said yes and then tried to sell me time share. Called and complained they took care of it sent me the latest and greatest. Very happy they came through.. Big difference between the two! Anyway all good! I’ve been watching your videos and I smoked the chicken today. It came out absolutely perfect. Followed your directions almost all the way except they put the chicken on a wired basket. I thought that would give it a better cook, but I should’ve left it on the grill correct.? the bottom was a little soggy. Let me know But I have to tell you otherwise it came out perfect I love your channel. Keep up the good stuff!

I have seen a number of videos that say the recipes menu isn't the best so thank you for the timings and the explanation regarding the pellets. Curious, why the duck fat? In hopes of getting a crispy skin? I would think that's probably why the skin split and had the opposite result? Might be worth a test. Also, may want to check the depth of the tempspike, looks like it wasn't deep enough. At any rate, thanks for the video, my next cook.

I just got this cooker. I have dozens of smokers and grills. I like how easy this one works but it puts out too much smoke. I get clear invisible smoke on my other cookers and I like the flavor. With this cooker I smoked and air fried some wings and they we too smoky. Chicken skin picks up a lot of smoke. I think that part of it that smokes is cool but i'd wait until the pellet were burned down and putting out just a small whisper of smoke for a fraction of the cook time. The other issue is air fry wants to run chicken wings for way too much time. My wings were done in about 12 minutes. Any longer is way to long. What do you think?
@CookingWithCJ

Yeah I’m with you. It’s good to let the initial burn go then add the wings.
