@leterbuck2001 Living on your knees waiting for a Union handout? That sounds like something a person who knows nothing about the Union would say. I'm union, free as can be, get my 125K-150K a year in the check for 8-10 months work, plus rentals, pension, annuity, vacation fund, health, dental, and vision insurance. No living on my knees and no handouts, whatever tf that's supposed to mean. I'm no stranger to the gypsy lifestyle though.

@leterbuck2001 Were not talking about mining on this channel, were talking big construction. The Coal industry is much different than the heavy construction industry. Coal seems to me much more like a union shop situation, like the auto manufacturers unions. There are many professions that unionize, and many of them seem problematic to me...but in my industry, (construction of bridges, dams, docks, tunnels, pipelines etc,) having worked non Union for several years, I can tell you that Union is *absolutely* the way to go.

@leterbuck2001 I don't think so. I travel all over an entire region of the country for my work. It's a completely different scenario than a shop union...and far different from what you described as a "shop town". Different industries, different dynamics.
