Thanks Markus! There're many other tricks like apply tape on the piece to prevent undesired burning. With that you avoid sanding the laser work as I did. But if I tape the piece wouldn't be that fun to watch it burn, don't you think ;)? Thanks for come and comment.

Hey man! Great project! How did you manage to get the lines so accurate? Did you used other software or benbox itself? I mean, you just draw the lines or used an image and just algned it by "hand" with the software rulers? thanks!

Hi Enrique! Well, I simply use the benbox software recommended by the manufacturer. It's really easy, I loaded the ruler design image (jpg) which was made by wife for this ocation and the scale it with the scale from the benbox software and let the laser works. What does the engraving look like if I use this machine on plastic like acrylic? Does it look black like the wood too? It is possible to achieve the sandblast look w/laser engraving?

I didn't try engraving plastic but as far as I saw about this A5 laser working I must say it won't work on trasparent acrylic. On other softer plastics you must expect some deformation if you work on thin pieces due the work temperature of the laser. I don't think it's possible to achieve that kind of result with this laser. There are some scale-pictures on internet but those have a shitty quality. So I asked my wife to made one for me (she's a graphic designer so it only took about 5 minutes to do it ;D). Are you interested in download the design?
