I am the proud new owner of a 5x5x3 canary and rosewood box. Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for inspiring me to try new things in my shop.

Over time, one of the most valuable and enjoyable qualities of Skyler's videos is her experimentation, so that we viewers are learning along with Skyler. Her mistakes are our mistakes and we learn from them. Overlapping box joints were a case in point. The first time Skyler tried, it was a hot mess, and then she made a midstream correction and saved the box. Afterward, Skyler learned how to make the cut properly, then presented the correct method in a new project. That progression was much more helpful to me than if Skylar had filmed only a "polished" version. Bravo.

Hi Skyler, I have a new way to make boxes now. I have seen where you have to insert wood strips inside the box to create the lip but not this way which seems easier. So thank you for the video looking forward to the next one.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I received your Wtax in the mail a couple days ago. I can’t wait to use them. But most importantly, the note that was inside got to me. Thank you very much for what you do.

@woodworkingwithSkyler thanks for the lesson. You certainly have patience. It turned out lovely. Since you worked so hard on sticking the pattern together...keep the cut off parts and use them for inlay! That's one process for 2 projects making it more efficient. I thought of the perfect t-shirt logo for you! "Super, super...something like that!" You say both alot like a catch phrase so you could have a print company make them up and sell them!

As always, beautiful work. I do have an easier way for you to make it interlocking. Instead of using the table to cut on your line, use the same router on your router table starting exactly where you have that line and of course, half depth to make your lid perfectly interlock your box

I enjoy your videos very much especially since you do show when you make a mistake. You give the amateurs the courage to try woodworking projects without fear of not being perfect. But while making the this project I did notice a mistake you made in cutting the lid off this box. You could have cut the lid by using the router for both cuts, inside and outside by using a 3/8ths router bit. Thanks for reading and keep on making wonderful boxes.❤😊

Hi Skyler, it's Grover. Another outstanding video from Sawdust and splinters. For some reason @ 11:46 I noticed the Moxon ( workbench vice) vice in the background , that was the video when I discovered your channel. Another background observation @ 24:29 I see your scroll saw table with the magnifying glass accessory , that is an accessory I need. I have been relying on over the counter reading glasses.

That is a beautiful box. I like the shading that the laser cut makes on the cut lines of the triangular pieces. I would not remove that. Just put your finish over it.

First time seeing your channel, was drawn in by the Mystery Box unboxing one... Thank you for that. Question on this build, I'm just beginning to get the courage to make boxes and love this design, I'll probably check out your other ones. But, do you have any non-laser-woodworker tips on cutting those small parts?

That turned out beautifully. Very good match of the continuous grain pattern for box and lid. I like the interlocking lid idea. You cleaved the top from the box on the table saw. Could that exterior dado on the box portion be done with the table saw as well instead of a router?
