Hi Marc Thanks for the reply The Tech from National Seating was at my home yesterday. He showed me how to remove the back rest( Sorry I asked you about the seat and meant the back) You simply remove the cushion where your back rests on and unloosen 1 of the 4 screws holding that attaches it, and simply slide it to remove it. You may have to loosen the 3 other bolts but they are just hand tight, then remove the back. Now I can fit it in my "lovely" minivan. We just need to figure out how to get it to fit in in my BMW 6 convertible :-)

Is there a procedure for adjusting the casters to eliminate flutter? How tight should the nut be?
@Marcsmobility9 ай бұрын
You can try to tighten the bolt on the top of the fork. Sometimes they could possibly work themselves loose and would create a flutter. Other than that, the only other thing I could think that would be a problem is the bearing may have warn and need new bearings. You would be able to notice that by grabbing the caster wheel and moving back and forth. If the wheel moves but they hub doesn't, you need new bearings, Hope this helps!

@@Marcsmobility Thanks! I know for permobil chairs they have a complex spring tension thing or rubber washers, also with specific torque on the nut, seems like a decent shove on the castor should cause it to only spin around just one turn or a little less. On my Rival and on my Q6 Edge, the castors seem to spin around totally free, no tension at all. the bearings are good, if anything it seems too good. Flutter isn't bad but certainly more than my friend's permobil which has none at all. Just wondering if you know how tight it should be or if I should just experiment with it a bit.

Let me ask, does it do this all the time? I myself (Adam) am in a manual chair and my old chair the front right caster would do this same thing. Come to find out that the arm to the caster or the fork for the caster was bent and was allowing the caster to not sit on the ground fully and gave it enough rise to allow it to flutter and spin while I was pushing. Is there a chance the arm or the fork to the caster could have gotten bent? If not, experiment with the tightness of the nut.

@@Marcsmobility I pulled everything apart and found that there was some rust and a frozen bearing in one of the caster stem mounts, and the other looked great but was just too loose. Replaced the frozen bearing and tightened the nut a bit on the other side, they both seem to be working as they should. I'll see how it tracks, if it doesn't want to roll straight i'll loosen the nut just a bit, but I think that's all it needed!

Sounds like you are on the right track to getting that issue fixed

Any clue how to lower the seat back or remove so it will fit in a minivan?
@Marcsmobility8 ай бұрын
Taking the seat off isn't an easy quick task and you would have to remove all the wires which wouldn't be a good thing to do unless you are a trained tech. If the unit has recline or tilt seat functions, that would be something to try. Other than that, you may want to look into other ways to transport the unit like a mobility lift on the back of your vehicle.

Do these have different speed settings
@Marcsmobility6 ай бұрын
Yes they do, all mobility units have the option to change your speed.

You could give us a call and we could try to help over the phone but you may want to contact Permobil and speak with a tech at 800-736-0925. Hope that helps.

Mine has #72 error speed reduction (traction control) stop chair to clear waning but it wont go over 1.5 mph , any suggestions?

You would need to have a tech take a look at this issue to get it resolved.

how do you make adjust top speed on that chair?.......only getting 1.3 mph top speed
@marqdx Жыл бұрын
Has to be programed by tech using the electronic tool.

Hey, not OP and 9 months late. If the chair's scissor lift is raised more than about an inch your top speed is really slow, even in the "outdoor fast" speed setting. With the scissor lift fully lowered I can get about 7mph in the top speed setting. Also make sure the notched dial on the right-hand side of the console is scrolled all the way up. You should see there's a vertical line on the right of the spedometer UI. If your scroll wheel is down (low speed) the bars will be gray. If it's up (high speed) those bars will be yellow. It's beyond me why this chair has two different methods of speed control.

Could be needing an update. Best bet would be to reach out to a Quantum dealer in your area and have them connect it to a computer and update the firmware.
