About 50 yrs ago I was told I was allergic to the hairsprays out there. I was told to use beer that had sat out for a few hours. The older it got the stiffer the hold, however, over the years I found out that beer has micotoxins in it so I quit using it. I used to also put a little sugar in the beer. This looks like a much better recipe. I do want to tell you that my head didn't feel foggy anymore. I love the clear thinking it gave me. The same person told me I needed to quit using the shampoo. He told me to use Dove Bar Soap. I did that for years. Now I use what I make or Dr. Bronners Soap, and onion skin hair rinse or vinegar.

Fantastic information. As a kid we had oranges around the holidays and my mother showed us how to put whole cloves into the oranges and that is a scent I adore. Thank you Heidi. This was great. Very timely info for me! I am nearing the bottom of a bottle of hair spray and was just thinking that surely there must be a way to make it myself. I think I will hang onto the empty spray bottle and reuse it with your recipe. Thank you for all the scent ideas, too! ~Michele

My favorite scent for hair is a blend of citrus, vanilla, and coconut. The inspiration is Jessicurl's Island Fantasy scent. I get compliments all the time when I wear that scent combination. I don't use anything for hold but would like to reduce the slight frizz in my waves. II think I will try aloe vera gel which I heart about from Annie Ever After back when her channel name was Annie's Simple Life. She said it helps with the frizz and leaves hair soft. I need to remember to get some. It's looks so much worse if I brush it out when it's dry. It looks best when wet styled or if I've been out in the rain without my head covered.

That was interesting, I never knew about making your own hair spray! Looking forward to the beauty tips. One thing, I had an allergic reaction to tea tree oil, had raised red itchy spots on my skin. Just so you know it can be bad for sensitive skin. 🌱

Hey there! Thanks a ton for the recipe! I noticed several comments on here about colloidal silver. I have a nano silver made in balanced ph water. It’s the best form I’ve found and trust. Especially after learning about the silver staying in the body if not processed right. Not sure if it’s against the policy here on utube to share links in comments. Stay safe friends!

Hi Heidi! Does the sugar make it sticky on use? Whats the purpose of sugar, and can i add magnesium oil in it as well? Thanks so much! xx
@RainCountryHomestead3 жыл бұрын
The sugar is what gives it is hold so it is sticky in the same way that any other hair spray would be. I suppose you could add some of that oil if you want but remember this is a hair spray for hold, not to be confused with a leave in conditioning treatment

@RainCountryHomestead2 жыл бұрын
I really cannot say for certain as I am neither or doctor nor do I know anything about that or what could work but it certainly would not hurt to try it or any other natural and safe things such as coconut oil, plantain, comfrey, or yarrow. The herbs can be applied in the form of a poultice or infused in an oil and applied that way
