try brushing each roll with egg wash, then roll in lightly toasted almond slices - give each roll some room to grow as they rise...

May I ask, what does the egg wash do if you're covering with cream cheese or is that only if adding the almond? I don't believe I'd enjoy the almond slices for the strawberry rolls, but maybe with traditional cinnamon rolls.

egg wash helps the almonds stick, and adds shine to crust. Almonds add flavor and crunch. it's just a simple variation...
