I watched, my mouth watered, you bros did it to me again, lol! Funny that Adam mentioned the garlic toasted hoagie, that's totally what I was thinking. Then I also saw that the juices were soaking into the bread, so maybe not toasting it is just fine. You know what you could do?... line the goods up on the griddle like when you make a cheese steak and lay the hoagie on top for a little to get the bread steamed up and warm. Then flip it back over together. If you want them to stay hot and juices to meld too, you can always wrap them in foil for a bit. I ended up getting foil sheets and wrap everything up, it's amazing! I am definitely going to need to try this recipe though, and as sandwich - genius!!

Thank you so much for watching! We should have been more clear, we did add it during the cook - the best time would be before adding the sausage back with the peppers and salt and pepper (after laying the olive oil down, and the peppers, onions, and diced tomatoes). It doesn’t need much time to add good flavor with the oregano. Hope this helps!!

@@waltwins Thanks. Cooked it last evening and it was fantastic!! My wife said "we need to do this again soon".

What do you do with the Oregano? I didn't see it in the recipe so I just added it to the vegetables and balsamic
@waltwins2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching! Our apologies for not making it clear, yes! We put it in with the veggies and vinegar - perfect!🤙🤙

Can you shed some light on why you chose to brown the links a bit and then slice them, as opposed to slicing them before cooking them on the grill? No wrong way to do it, of course, just wondering if there was a particular rationale for how they cook up?
@waltwins3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching! Yes! While it’s possible to do it both ways, cooking the sausage through before cutting allows a “flat” rather than busted-open sausage - for us the sear (which we got on several of the cut ends) was perfect. It’s just a preference thing!😄😄🤙🤙

Thinking about doing this with ground Italian sausage rather than links... what do you think?
@waltwins3 жыл бұрын
That would work! When we did our research, it seemed links were the preferred method, but I’m sure it would be amazing either way! Take care and GRIDDLE ON!🔥🔥

It was tasty, but are you sure you only put one small can of diced tomatoes? Seems like you had more tomatoes than I did. I had to use a large fry pan because my blackstone will remain boxed till spring brings some warmer mornings............

we call it a super bowl, no bread and slice up just the way you did, for people that can't have all that bread.

When they slice up sausages for sandwiches in a deli or sub sho they threw them in the sauce and cook all the flavor out of the sausages. Then they open the room add the mix and the broil it drying it more and the roll so crisp it cuts your mouth I refuse to buy the anymore I've been drilled on sausage and rolls s hard you can't eat them. So in Martin nj DON YOU WONT LIKE IT T EVER BUY A SAUSAGE W PEPPERS N ONIONS At east takeout orders.
