How to Make an Adjustable Saw Stop for Segment Turning

I decided to make a saw stop for my table saw for cutting out segment pieces, but this stop can also be used cutting thin strips of wood. Check it out!

Thats a nice piece of work. To make it easier I just clamped a piece of wood to my adjustable fence.

Thanks Art and yeah that would absolutely work. The reason I like this a little more is that there is not fence for the small pieces to get caught between. Of course, all you really need to do is clean them out every little bit so there is no build up. Thanks for watching.

You will have to explain... when I attach a piece its just for reference... I then drag my workpiece past the clamped piece so there is no chance of getting pinched between the blade and fence (or clamped piece). So explain (please) how your way is better. I'm NOT trying to be an ass! I'm still a newbie and just want to understand. Thank you

Sorry Art, maybe I misunderstood. I was thinking that there was a piece of wood attached to the fence (lets say it is 3-inches long). That would be at the start of the fence where you would push you wood up against it. Then as you push the wood forward to the blade and make the cut, you would have a free floating piece of wood (finished piece) sitting on the right side of the blade. But the fence runs the full length of the table on the right side of the blade. Now as I picture it in my mind, you will have a little distance between the fence and the cut piece of wood and the blade. Now if you keep making cuts, those pieces would build up and eventually expand out to touch the fence. Of course to avoid that, all you would have to do it clear them out every few cuts. Now that is what I was thinking, if I understand your setup. I did not mean to make it sound as if I thought one was better than the other, both methods will work perfect. Sorry if I came across that way.

On the expanding miter what length and thread did you replace the package bolt with

Sorry Randy, I do not, but I can tell you the bottom piece is 4 1/2 x 12 1 /2 and the top piece is 3 1/4 x 12 1/2. Hopefully that will help.

Sorry to say Robert, I do not. I use many of the Segeasy products and I basically modified the one he has on this website: www.segeasy.com/downloads.htm But I can tell you the bottom piece is 4 1/2 x 12 1 /2 and the top piece is 3 1/4 x 12 1/2. Hopefully that will help.
