+TheGeekPub hey man love your video and was wondering about the software on the arcades machine. Not so much on how to install it but how it loads up. What I mean is I saw you put a main power switch on top of the he arcade cabinet. If you turn it off the computer inside should go off right? but if you turn it back on does it load windows 8 and then you have to tell it to run the software or does it just load the software automatically like an arcade cabinet would.
@MrAndyBassline8 жыл бұрын
It will boot straight into your emulator menu from which you can select various platforms to select games from. Depending on which software your arcade is running on depends on the visual menu's you get.

One small tip I have about working with acrylic, that shit is a dust loving static monster. I just lightly run a dryer sheet over acrylic and the static charge goes away. Working in a shop full of various dusts and even the cat hair stuck to my clothes is so frustrating and a cheap dryer sheet saves a major headache.

Awesome build. I would leave the Marquis as is with Space Invaders. It's more authentic as Space Invaders was one of the first out there. In later years Arcade owners would re-program the games and leave the old game graphics as is. So in a sense, your arcade game is closer to the real thing that was out there.

How did it go? The biggest nightmare for me was routing. I even got the router bit from Geek Pub, but it got hot, twisted, and dulled super fast :( Made a big mess, and wouldn't cut straight. I basically am going to have to glue my T-molding to the thing to save it. The other big issues were trying to figure out the angle of the screen, where the speakers go (Mike doesn't cover that very well in the videos) and also hanging the cabinet door was a real challenge for me.
