Thanks mate! They seem happy as Larry in their new homes. Way more room to roam than when they were in their tubs.

I feel like this is a stupid question but I’m super paranoid about the cleanup bugs getting out of the enclosure, especially since it’s in my bedroom. I’ve got the same type of enclosure and substrates probably about the same height as you’ve got. Is this a stupid thing to be worried about? Was recommended this kit for my mags new enclosure, found this looking for a tutorial, thank you for the instructions

Hi Kari, I haven’t had any issues with clean up crew trying to escape really. I find they tend to want to stay reasonably hidden and secure. Crickets or roaches etc are a different story though.

very pretty setups! Do be careful with bioactive and green trees because they are very prone to respiratory infections. Also you might run into problems safely removing GTP's from enclosures without removable perches.

Thanks for the tips :) I’ve been keeping greens for a few years now in bios without any issues. Even bred them and went through maternal incubation which was pretty cool 😎

@@BeachesScalyBeasts Never seen anyone do maternal with arboreals, thats awesome! As long as your snakes are happy and healthy thats all that matters. Cheers mate!

@@Rreeeee that’s it mate. Bios certainly not the answer to all and I reckon you need to be a bit more onto it then more sterile setups. If you’re interested in seeing the MI clutch here’s a vid link. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIXRgqelpM6aq7c

If I own some down the line again or find a friend that’s happy to let me film some then I’d be happy to.

I enjoy your videos ...all my adult and neo GTPs get bioactive medium, even in small tub racks,,,,no more urate and feces smell....do you notice any difference in feeding response when they are in small tubs vs the large enclosure?
@BeachesScalyBeasts Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I haven’t noticed a difference in feeding response as such but now they have space to display a variety of hunting behaviours vs just hanging from a perch. Now they shift spots on perches regularly and hunt from the ground as well.

@@BeachesScalyBeasts I just wonder if my feeding trials would have gone better if they were in a large naturalistic habitat and i could try feeding trials when the were caudal luring. next clutch i will try it...

@@nfri5108 I’m not sure if you’ve watched any of my earlier stuff but these greens were maternally incubated and when they hatched I decided to go against the grain and offer food that same night. I had 3/12 take frozen thawed pinkies night one. By 7 days old all bar 1 had eaten frozen thawed pinkies. Most of mine caudal lured inside there tubs when I was raising them. I gave my female last season off and this season I’m trying to replicate the success again. Will be interesting to see how it goes.

@@BeachesScalyBeasts I did watch that video as I was also maternally incubating my second clutch and was interested in the temps you were using. if i remember correctly you had no nesting box but your habitat was large enough and with enough natural clutter for her to find the best spot to lay. my last clutch of about 11 I had 11/11 eat....this clutch was just 2/7 and five had to be force fed.....each clutch is different...

@@nfri5108 yeah that’s it. Every time I’m expecting something new whether that be snakes or lizards. It’s what keeps it interesting. Yeah she laid in leaf litter above the heat panel from the cage below. She also had no night time heat so I wonder if the eggs fluctuated temps or whether she was able to keep them stable. That said the room wouldn’t have dropped below 24c I’d say. Even in the dead of winter now it’s 19-22c during the night in that room.
Awesome job! My Green Tree Python is my next snake to get an upgrade and this gave me some great ideas!
