My mom loved butter pecan anything. She made a coffee cake that had a topping similar to this syrup but minus the maple. I make that coffee cake myself now and tomorrow I’m going to make these pancakes in her honor. What a wonderful recipe!

I'd use smart choice butter. Regular butter, high in cholesterol Never thought of the tartar...interesting ingredient. These look moist gonna try next Sunday a.m.

I just use self rising flour , white Lilly is my favorite. Add egg and milk. Then fry in melted margrine. Top with what ever you want. 👍

These look so good! Did you say cream of tartar is used to create a buttermilk effect? Can you use buttermilk instead of whole milk and omit the cream of tartar?? Just curious… I’ve never used cream of tartar before😁

Yes Cream of Tarter added to milk makes buttermilk. Or add Lemon Juice or ACV to the milk to make buttermilk as well. If I was to use buttermilk I would go half butter milk half whole milk 💕
