Best tutorial on vocal chops. Also, I was today years old when I learned that you can change plug in parameters just by hovering over the knob and use the scroll wheel instead of klick and drag the knob/slider. You shortly did it on LittleAlterbody in the video so thanks mate.

Thanks Caelo. Haha yeah I rarely ever use it tho. It can be handy if you want to fine-adjust a value but some plugins also offer fine adjustment if you just hold ALT or SHIFT and adjust it with the mouse.

It depends. Either I want it to be a certain note that I have in my head - so this way I dont need to know what note is and I can adjust or pick the chop that I need to hit that certain note. But the easiest way to find the note is if you just load up a piano and play all the notes until you have the one thats the same as the chop. Then you know the note (obviously you need to use your ears to do that :D). Edison also has a pitch detect feature but to do this you would have to export the individual chop first and then load it into Edison, and then let it detect the pitch there.

Do you think that plugin is better than Serato Sample? I have Serato Sample but tbh I've always used Slicex and I'm wondering whether I should switch to something with more control!

Mhh I have never tried Serato Sample but Vice is definitely a really advanced sampler. In this video I just scratched the surface of what you can do with it. I also really love how navigation works inside the plugin, scrolling through chops and adjust the chops so I can find the perfect one. Compared to slicex this is imo much better for workflow and control and most important a great user interface!

I used the same technique for the Vocal Chops that I used in this video. The only difference was that I splitted the chops more up and processed single chops with different pitch and formant values so its little bit more advanced than the chops in this tutorial.

I do it by ear and load up a piano to find the right note but in FL Studio you can also load the chop into Edison and analyze the pitch!
