Very nice! Back in the 80s my mom used store bought flour tortillas to make the dumplings and they worked great but then she said they changed ingredients or something after a few years and wouldn't work anymore, would fall apart. You make your dumplings the way I lOVE! haha.

Ms (Mrs)...Mae Mae...I humbly say thank you! I've made Chicken & dumplings (with frozen dumplings) for years. After watching you video last week I decided to make my dumplings from scratch... THEY WERE WONDERFUL!!! My hubby who is an over the road trucker LOVES THEM. It's an all time favorite of his, that his mom would make. We were pleased & are grateful to you for doing what you do!

I just stumbled on to your page today. I just love your realness. The ironic thing is the first demonstration I saw was of your fried collard greens. After it finished, I was trying to type a comment asking if you made chicken and dumplings. The video ended before I could finish the comment. As God would have it, this video popped up. I probably needed a quicker version though (lol). My daddy loved to cook (he was from Oklahoma), mama had a few special dishes. I just didn’t pick up on cooking although I’m married to a man who loves to eat. You are truly helping folks like me out. Keep doing it Mrs Mae Mae

Chicken & Dumplings were my favorite thing made by my paternal Grandma! She died when I was a senior in high school, and no one in the family made those dumpling except her. So, when I reached my late 50’s, I made it a mission to learn how to make chicken & dumplings as close to like hers as I could. It took a while, but I knew I finally had it when my Daddy and Uncles said, “They taste like Mom’s!” ❤️

Hello, I just watched your video , I was so excited. I’m 72 now and don’t cook hardly at all. After I got married way way back, one year my grandma said To us girls when we were visiting, when they made biscuits in a tube, that’s the best thing since sliced bread. My grandpap had to have biscuits every meal. He had this stuff he called soak. He would tear up several biscuits in a very large mug, put 3 heaping teaspoons sugar, and fill the cup with coffee. Well grandma told us, girls, you don’t have to mix biscuits or dumplings, use these can biscuits. So my family always ask me to make dumplings. Lol. Now I watched you, I’m going to make dumplings from scratch, and biscuits that’s not bisquick. And I’ll cook the whole chicken and debone it, we know that tastes the best, just no substitute. Happy Thanksgiving,2019

Just found your channel today. But, I have watched just about all of your videos and subscribed today. Yes, you have been binged watched! LOL! I like the way you cook - very clean. I am quite picky about whose food I eat. Thank you for this recipe. I have been wanting to see a cook that felt I could trust make chicken and dumplings. I and my husband have southern roots. But, neither of us have experienced chicken and dumplings. I will be making this next week for dinner. I’ll be using my homemade chicken stock and home canned chicken. I have some homegrown herbs that I’ll put in my dumplings. Looks like “Good Eatin” as my father would say. 😊 For this Sunday l’m making the Apple Dapple cake. I was in a cooking rut and needed new ideas. Also making Ranch Chicken Pasta tomorrow! Can’t wait to try the fried pig feet. Got some trotters in the freezer. Going to serve them with greens and potato salad. Thank you! If you can’t tell, I am excited for the new ideas!

My Grandma made what we called cat head biscuits. And my Aunt made chocolate gravy, it was so good with a big, hot biscuit! And she only lived a hop, skip and jump from my Grandma. We ate every single one of her biscuits.

If you coat them real good with flour, you can dump them all in stir,,plain flour is for flat dumplings you roll them real thin, they cook up good 👌🏽

My God, I found a real southern Cook. Lol Thank you so much!!! I will try this this weekend. You remind me of many happy days with my mom. This was the last dish I ask my mom to teach me. Mom got sick, and I never had the chance. Thank You, so much. A blast from my past!!!
