David Gibson yeah the rolling out of the bars using manual labor seemed very old fashioned and not cost effective.

They putting in so much labor cost where they can just use autpmated machines that does it for them. Even if they can't afford the machines, that's why theres people that run factories that does everything for them and you can control cost of goods more efficiently because you pay for it done in bulk of per 1000 or 10 000 units.

Been making my own gels for over a year now. Basically made with: Dates Bananas Almonds Oats Chocolate It can be a pain at times but at least I know what’s going in my body and it’s not all hyper concentrated processed sugars.

Bought ten of these bars, two of them were moldy - I was lucky to open the first moldy one before the race, because during the race I would just eat it without examining it. It was well within the best before date (about half a year remaining). So... no, thanks, I will stick to the ones I make myself.

What I do: a baguette cut in 4, add honey and walnuts and kiwi slices for the acid flavour. 2 minutes to make, no baking or cooking, cheap and a ton of energy to deliver.

I sure hope the had a fire protection engineer look at their facility. I am a fire protection engineer that specialized in process facilities for awhile and that type of facility has a potential to have a combustible dust issue.
