How to make Fabric Yo Yos

What a wonderful set of instructions and video. I am using the 20mm maker and have a difficult time making sure the raw edges get hidden inside. They bunch up near the start/stop slot when I pull to gather. The rest of the yo-yo turns under just fine. They are small like I need but don’t have a centre hole. I am inserting a penny into them and will sew together as a grid to make a trivet.

I'm glad you liked our video! Those are tiny ones you are making! If you are still having issues, it could be a few problems, 1) trimming too close there isn't enough to flip under, 2) since yours are so tiny, maybe you aren't trimming enough? 3) as you start to pull use your fingers to turn that part to the inside, 4) as you are pulling, spread your gathers around the circle so it pulls evenly. I'm also not sure if the penny is keeping the fabric from flipping to the inside. Hope this helps! Happy Sewing!

Love your simple ways to make things around the house. Running sneakers with poly-fabric uppers cost over $100, but develop holes at the toe in 3 months. I understand it's an industry-wide conspiracy. Do you have a better way than what is available on the internet to teach us how to mend these expensive pieces of poly fabric? I followed the instructions on internet with nylon wool thread, but didn't do a very good job. Thank you for your time
