I was recently diagnosed by a therapist after a meltdown at work. I’m 38 and wow it all makes sense now, I’m glad I’m not alone in my search for the right friends. Now I’m obsessed learning about who I am. Thanks for your videos.

That’s absolutely the best thing you can do with a diagnosis! It’s crazy to think how many people are going through their lives not knowing! I’m glad my videos help, I really am! 😁

I tried step 1 a couple of times a few years ago, everything I tried to say usually came out as "Uhhhhh..... thanks" the last time I tried it was with a hairdresser, my second comment got the reply "don't worry buddy, my brother's got anxiety too, I'm fine with not having any small talk" and stopped trying after that. That being said, clubs are a great thing, the best time of my life was when I had a study group and pagan society at university. Unfortunately I'm now an atheist and there are no atheist societies in my area.

@David Greek your school experience sounds like the inversion of mine, I started off with a speech problem, went through a year of language therapy, but I started out with teachers stopping any bullying and some friends (or kids too polite to tell me to go away when I sat next to them anyway) then I came out and the teachers stopped protecting me, I lost all my friends and the bullying really started and just got worse and worse. One of my big obsessions at the time was mythology, mostly Norse so the university's pagan society was great and got a handful of friends, people who loved learning about the Norse Gods and that mythology from me and I loved learning about the Gods they followed.

@David Greek It was in England during the last few years of section 28, which was interpreted (at least in my town) as no one was allowed to stop homophobic bullying. And yes to being annoyed at the teachers, my favorite teacher once saw me get slammed into the wall and have bender shouted at me, then she asked me if I was alright because I never used to let that kind of thing bother me. I usually have difficulty remembering my emotions during past events, but I still feel rage at that. I am glad that you got your bullying sorted out though, childhood emotional scars are the best

I understand feeling put off practising social communication, I used to struggle with A LOT! You gotta keep persisting with it though, think of some things to say and practice saying it in a relaxed way it really helps 🤩

Thomas, I really hope you see this comment. I have been wanting to reach out to you. You see, I have been diagnosed with Asperger's and sensory processing disorder. I struggle a lot, and watching your videos has been super beneficial to me. I like listening to your thoughty autie podcasts as well. When I was diagnosed with Asperger's, I felt alone and like nobody understood me. Quite frankly, I don't think I quite understood myself. I had always been so different and introverted throughout my life, and when I was diagnosed, it made sense. When I watch your videos, I don't feel at all alone and I feel very understood. Anyways, thank you for making these videos. They have really helped me a lot.

What, really? I've never heard of that happening... how strange. Let me know what happens... and if worst comes to worst you are always welcome in the aspergers legion :P!

@@ThomasHenley yeah I’m 13 and I go to a special Ed school. For my behaviour. If I do have autism, than it’s extremely mild and unoticable and there gonna take the lable off me at some point

@@vexgunneryt1981 It's not very common for that to happen. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it buddy... it won't define your life! Make sure you make the most of your time at school, learn all you can, and show kindness to others (Even your teachers :P)

Painful making friends/lovers like eating that craved Mexican dinner. You know should have avoided those chips salsa with two beers, and why that burrito, the 2 beef tacos beans rice sufficed. What to do? Go home exhausted sick and sleep it all off!!
