Guess I am so lucky to get scapes at my local farmers market! Love scapes. One vendor makes scape pesto. Fantastic. Thanks for this recipe!

I grow garlic every year the garlic scapes are my favorite veg thanks for the recipe I usually just season them with olive oil salt and paper and grill them

If you guys made a video for pickled garlic ramps (sanmaneul jangajji) it'd be a huge service to the internet! I have never seen a live action recipe video for that banchan posted anywhere and it's such a beautiful one for people to become acquainted with! Foraging for ramps in spring is one of the highlights of my year! :)

I don't know if you are still looking for a recipe for pickled ramps, but if you search youtube for 산마늘장아찌 만드는 법 you will find a lot of videos. They are in Korean, but I think they are easy to follow along and the ingredients are easy to figure out m

It’s harder to find garlic scapes these days... but they have a really nice bite and are delicious! I think I need to buy spring onions, most of your recipes use them!

these look so yummy! I loved loading up on these from the local banchan place 💜 are these the same veggies the Japanese call "nira"? so yummy!

Hi Jessica! I think our taste palates are similar - haha! Same, we always load up on these... but sometimes the local banchan places make it much too salty! (너무 짜!). I googled Nira but it seems to be slightly different. If I am not mistaken, 'nira' are chives :) Anyhow, we hope you get to try the scapes at home! In Korean, garlic scapes are called '마늘종'

Hello Jessica! Nira are Chinese chives, they are flat. The ones in this recipe are called < me ninniku > (garlic sprouts) and they are round. The taste is similar, but the garlic scapes are crunchy.

Yes I know garlic Scapes very well. In the old days of the Food Network you used to hear about ramps and garlic Scapes often. Not so much today. I can't use the special soy sauce because it has pork in it and I don't eat meat at all.

Oh is that so! This is one of my favorite banchans - but it is hard to find scapes. You can replace the minced pork with minced mushrooms as a workaround ;)

Banchan are Korean side-dishes that you eat with rice. Similar to Spanish Tapas. ;)
