Thank you for the video I was looking for this exact effect. Just wondering how I can control the speed of the displacement effect. I thought if I slow down the glitch stock, it would slow down the displacemenet, but that's not the case.

If you're like me and don't know what precomposing is, put all of your glitched visuals in their own composition, then put that composition over your background

If you are using an image (or you cannot find the set channels tab), you have to drag set channels onto your image/text from the "effects & presets" menu. Great video though :)

@@somnoler23 Sorry that I didn't post back. Yes, actually you can just apply the effect to a single layer, there is no need for an adjustment layer like in this video, unless you want to affect all elements below it.

Thanks. I got tripped up by blending modes not showing in after effects on my version using Windows 10. You have to right click the name eg "Red" and it will show you the option to do it.
