Thanks so much for this! I've recently made homemade taco seasoning by adding brown sugar, and honestly didn't care for it too much. I will be making this one, which I know is going to be 10x's better. You have some quality spices that you're using there, too. I'm going to have to invest in some good spices. Sure it cost a bit more, but that's okay.

Hi Robin...How would I proportion and prepare ground beef taco meat with your recipe with how much seasoning,how much water,and how would you put it together? Getting ready to do some soon!
@RockinRobinCooks8 жыл бұрын
+atgn70 I use 2 to 3 Tbsp. of my taco seasoning per pound of ground beef. After cooking the ground beef, drain the fat, add the seasoning with 1/2 cup water. Stir to mix in seasoning. Simmer until the water cooks down, maybe 3 minutes. Done. Use in tacos or anything else!

I need to season some shredded beef for enchiladas. I already have a roast all shredded up. Can I make this seasoning and mix it with the beef and a little broth and come out with something that will taste good, or should I just use the shredded beef as is to fill the enchiladas?
@RockinRobinCooks10 жыл бұрын
If your enchilada sauce is good, then you can use the beef as is and get away with it. I would probably do as you said, mix a little seasoning in with some broth and it will be wonderful. Did you make my enchilada sauce?

Hi there. I tried this tonight and it was a lovely flavor but it was so spicy that i could not taste anything after the first few bites. How do I make this so it tastes exactly the same (Because its amazing!) but without any spice.
@RockinRobinCooks9 жыл бұрын
***** Hi Mia, the only spice in this that could make it "hot" is the chile powder. You may want to try a different brand from what you are using. Spiciness will vary depending on how hot the chiles were when they made it. When I make this it is relatively mild, am I'm a whimp! You could also try using half as much.
@mikeb7927 жыл бұрын
You mentioned you can control the heat aspect. Which spice is the heat element?
@RockinRobinCooks7 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, really only the chile powder is spicy. You can cut down on that spice a little, say a tsp less or so. Chile powders vary in there heat also. I say try it full strength and see how you like it. Have a great day!

I will point out american chilli powder is not pure chilli powder but a blend of herbs and spices, i discovered this while making a different recipe elswwhere which dam near blew the doors off in spice, making it a biohazard. The basic homemade version i use is FYI 12 parts ground sweet paprika, 6 parts dried origano / mexican if possable, 6 parts ground cumin, 6 parts granulated garlic, 3 parts ancho chilli powder, 3 parts guajillo chilli powder, 3 parts granulated onion, 2 parts salt, 1 part ground white pepper / or black or blend of I like to use ancho and guajillo chilli power for flavour and spice, i buy the whole chilli's online and toast grind my own in a coffee grinder, this allows me to remove the seeds and membranes controlling the spice level. If you do not like spice omit one chilli powder. There are as many chili powder recipes as there are people eating it each different and personnel, I went from a basic now chilli powder recipe to the one listed above, it works for me and mine, it may not for you and yours, start easy on the chilli and work up. Thanks for the recipe and video, take care and god bless.
