Love the recipe. Most all of the recipes I have found have lye in them. Is lye a necessary ingredient?

I personally do not add them on my DIY soaps. My daughter has super sensitive skin and this soap recipe works best for her. 🩷

I prefer using essential oil but you can use fragrance oil as well.

Hi Rewan, after 2 hours in the fridge or 4 hours in room temperature then you can use it. 😉

Hi Jasmin, if they are store properly in a cool, dry place away from heat or direct sunlight they should be good for couple of weeks without getting rancid. I only make enough for immediate use. Hope that helps.

@@carmen-d1nglethe-352 hi Carmen, with this kind of soap I dont think you can use regular soap or store bought soap if thats what you’re referring to. But the cheapest shea butter i found in amazon is this. Hi, you can but personally I never add preservatives on my diy soaps and they can stay for months and not getting molds. Hope that helps.

I used melt and pour and using the microwave is faster in 30 second increments but you can also use a double boiler on the stove.

Hi, to facilitate the hardening process but leaving them at room temperature for 4-7 hours will be enough to harden them also.
