This is good stuff! I'm going to try this with my "recovering western pleasure" horse, who's afraid to move out.

@@horsetrainingpro OK I will get someone to video and I will post it despite my being very new and novice at this. I've shown pleasure horses my entire life and now I feel like I'm learning to ride all over again. But I bet I'm not the only one, and I really very badly want to learn and improve my riding so I'm going to do this.

ooops, I am looking for help on how to slow my horse. Ex Roper only knows dead run, head up, and stiff stop. Any videos on how to correct this?

hey, i own an off the track. what i'm being taught by my trainner is when you feel them taking of also to slow down then do a one rein stop almost imediatly after (if they don't listen to the slow down que). don't let them take off on you. my tb is is very quite and responsive after doing this. if it doesn't work for you anouther thing you could try is (If you have a round yard) do a lot of direction changes keep him/her thinking about maintaining speed or ask for gait changes every 4-7 strides. I'm by no means a professional but it has work well for me. let me know if it works for you.
