When using Loopcloud if you want to find more matching samples on the same pack, just double click on the pack graphic to the left, and it will pull up all the samples from that pack in the browser. Makes it much easier to locate matching vocals, beats, melody, etc. Also, as you audition, mark the ones you like as favorites as you go through the pack. Then when complete, sort by favorites. Then you can focus on working with those.

Another cracking vid. Well done. I've been toying with Loopcloud lately. I have all sorts of problems with Abletons warping, so opt for dragging the 'processed' loop from Loopcloud instead. Hit the desired key & 'auto' and it will also automatically key everything into your D minor for you too. It's quite a glitchy piece of kit and has loads of bugs BUT even the free version sure beats sifting through half a tb of samples manually, or paying for Splice :)

Thanks, Zak! Yep, Loopcloud does have some bugs and it's pretty heavy on the CPU, but it's functionality trumps Splice, for sure. Splice is best (I find) for finding high quality single shot samples.

Yes, I was going to say the same thing - you can cut, chop, pitch, warp, layer the loop in the LC app, THEN just drag and drop the processed version. As for bugs, it was a bit buggy when I started with Loopcloud 2, but it's been extremely stable in Loopcloud 5 on my machine. It is also good that it can use your own samples as well, although I wish I didn't have to 'catalog' them in Loopcloud to use them first. I have Splice too, but it's a pain to use versus Loopcloud.

I have the attention span of a kingfisher! If this tutorial video had been 3.5 hours long I would sat on the bank watching attentively all of the fish swimming near me till I was ready to strike and enjoyed watching every second! When you have a side chain track you always set it to sends only, but you can also just mute the channel, as this does not affect the side chain input into the compressor (or whatever device you use to SC in Ableton). That's what I always do (using Live 10), or am I missing something here?

I got lost at the beginning trying to find the kicks. I replayed and slowed down playback and am still trying to figure it out. Can someone help? It probably doesn't help that I'm totally new to using Ableton.
