Linda Raynier I find it VERY HELPFUL. When I was a begginer, meaning a New Graduate in College. Made A LOT of mistakes... (lot s to tell, hehe). I realize my mistakes. I told myself I should have done this, say that instead of that. Even the English fluency is an issue too. :-) Thank God. I incidentally got a copy of a news paper with advices on Job Interviews (I still have ot after years). Advices from a manager and intervier himself. Mentioning the "how" or what you may say. In probably the Logest interview I ever had I mentioned lots of what I did as a Leader. I believe she was impressed. though I did not pursue on the next job interview... I will share this on my FB. Lots of students graduated in the Philippines. One VERY IMPORTANT thing an interviewee should learn is "First Impression Last". I receive some complements on that in their interviews. "I Like you!" the boss said. this and that. To single out your tips it is all about "IMPRESSION". right?!?

I’m an introvert too but I land jobs very easily. What worked for me was practicing questions in front of a mirror or out loud in the car. Get used to the sound of your own voice and you will feel more comfortable talking about yourself.

Hi Linda, I rarely even leave comments on KZbin videos. Heck I don't even remember leaving a comment before. But thank you for these videos. They were so helpful. I was previously unable to land myself any offers despite being shortlisted for multiple interviews. However after (binge) watching all your videos, I gained much self confidence and understood more about these interview skills. These videos are so easy to watch & I really appreciate your videos. 😊 I have landed myself some offers... so Thank you. To everyone else, all the best! Remember your value, and remember to stay positive!

These tips are so TRUE. Telling stories about your experience helps the interviewer to picture what it would be like to work with you, and also comes off so much more authentic than saying "I'm a hard worker" or "I'm detail oriented" (the "show don't tell" principal). Love it, thanks Linda.

I tend to be really observant and I may not consciously smile a lot but I am a hard thinker so I tend to have that 'hard thinker' look w/out always knowing it. Anti-social always gets a bad rep but there may be a real gem under the façade. :(
@glompxme
@glompxme 6 жыл бұрын
J Cor I'm not like that, I lack a lot of skills but I'm personable. And honestly I agree with you... A lot of antisocial people are very kind or very rational. It feels bad to think I might get something over someone who worked harder and IS a better fit because I have a nice smile and a strong first impression.

Crimson Lotus, I think you have "antisocial" confused with "introverted." Introverted people are quiet but usually kinder and more rational than average if you get to know them. An antisocial person is someone with some kind of severe character defect (for example, someone high in hostility or aggression) that makes normal interaction with them difficult. Otherwise, I agree with you. I've met a lot of people who have used charm to make up for the fact that they don't have the competence, temperament, or level of professionalism needed for a particular job.
@catmo59
@catmo59 4 жыл бұрын
If that personality trait is hindering you do something about it. Quiet or introverted people always claim they are observing. Observing what??? Relax, be personable and for heaven's sake smile. Just be pleasant and stop observing

I think I've been judged because I am a introvert. If I am comfortable I open up more. I am not the person who spills all my guts. I watch and listen before I engage. I have seen people that can be there way into positions, once they get the job, they are lazy. They sold themself, but they don't have a work ethic.
