I think over time, as you get more experience and have done quite a few interviews, you'll just naturally start to feel more relaxed. I would say immediately in the interview start with an ice breaker. Don’t respond to the “how are you today” with “good thanks, and you”. Start an exchange immediately share a short (positive) comment or ask them something immediately eg thanks for taking the time to meet with me today or I hope you’re having a great day/week so far. Makes a huge difference and helps pace the interview getting the nerves out!

i think the most useful tips for me is : Prepare your stories and responses in advances (have a stockpile of potential stories) because this is the first thing we have to prepare before the interview, the answer from the question that might be need some research like "what do you know about us as a company?" if you unprepared for this kind of question then you'll get nervous, this is the reason why you get nervous because you unprepared. so making sure that you fully know what examples, stories, achievement and responses you going to have to the most common question that come up in interview...

hi! thanks for the useful tips! the most useful tip for me is the third tip. if we practice in front of the camera before the interview, we can prepare ourselves first. because the more often we practice, then we will be able to do it easily, without being nervous. we can train ourselves how to be in a good position during the interview, how to make eye contact with the interviewer. with practice, we'll get through something well.
@bhetarianisa33024 жыл бұрын
Thank you, your tips and descriptions are very clear. I think the most important tips is to make yourself comfortable in thr space before the interview. Before the interview, we need to relax ourselves, make ourselves comfortable, not worry, and get rid of thoughts that can interfere with the course of the interview. When we’re stressed or anxious we tend to take quick and shallow breathes. When we have prepared everything such as interview material, but if we are uncomfortable and our minds are not calm, all will be disturbed. Material preparation is important, but what is more important is mental preparation because it lies within us.

I am interviewing a lot lately and I feel that a certain level of nervousness (not too much) actually helps to show that he/she really wants the job and is committed. If somebody is too confident I get quickly the impression that they don't really value the opportunity and may turn out to be arrogant if selected.
@samf.s.7731 Жыл бұрын
I think I have arrived at a point where I am comfortable preparing well, and then not getting overly nervous in an interview. I'd still be nervous but it's tolerable first off, and second it actually makes my responses a little better. It's that moderate state of stage nervousness but simultaneously feeling totally in control. Hence, it's good. I think for the first one I was definitely less confident, feeling extremely scared that I may deal some damage to myself. Luckily the interviewer was nice, and it didn't just serve as a job interview, it served as training. You get more confident after you've trained.

"Prepare your stories and responses in advance", because if we prepare stories and responses before the job interviews, then we will be ready and responsive when interviewed by the hiring manager. I think preparing stories and responses is by recognizing our own strengths and weaknesses, digging deeper about the company, and what makes us interested in applying for jobs at the company and also why the company should employ us, so we can control ourselves so as not to get nervous🤩

Great advice, need to be critical towards yourself. If you are practicing with someone be sure to be critical to them too.

Thanks for the Tips!!! The third tip is really help me, "Practice your answer on Camera beforehand". Practice, practice, and practice on mirror or camera. I always nervous when someone give me question, my head goes blank. So, with practice, i can increase my confident and courage. And i can find out what should i improve.

all of those tips were important and useful. but for me, the most useful tip is "Prepare your stories and responses in advance" because preparing is the most important on job interview. if I had to answer specific answer like "what do this company do" or else then I have the answer and easily can response their questions. it needs to be prepared and be ready for the job interview for avoiding nervous while attending the interview. just like some movies i watched about job interview that most of the interviewer asking us about "how do you look the company" or so.

This video is very useful because some people need tips like this and I really agree with the 5th tip "Dress the part" because at that time your appearance is also an added value. Dress style is not only a matter of displaying self-confidence, but also paying attention to the atmosphere and condition. Comfortable for you is not necessarily comfortable in the view of others. Especially during the interview, everything about us will be assessed in such a way. But the appearance must also be good and need not be excessive. Adjust to the condition of the body and the company we are aiming for.

Hello Linda, so for this particular video the one problem I have is regarding the Questions they want to ask at the interview. Basically, its about my ability to improvise in case there will be a question that I didn't expect to receive. I have participated this time in a PhD two weeks ago where they asked me some personalised questions that were not standard and I couldn't prepare an answer for them because I didn't expect them to come. How would I be able to answer these type of questions?

@@LindaRaynier Thanks the interview went within the allotted time. There was a lot of nodding and smiling by the interviewer and they told me that's a good question when I asked them one of the questions. I thank each one of them individually at the end. So we shall see how I go.

I learned as a college student who needed a part time job during summer break before my senior yr last year that cafes/food service like to hear about max availability. The mistake I made was I gave too much information on what might happen (Sundays I have an afternoon commitment but doesn’t happen weekly-could’ve prioritized the job over that) and how I would need to clock on time when actually the place clocks within a minute after end of shift. I ended up not getting it. Don’t do what I did :) (What ended up happening I was at an internship provider i enjoyed that cut the program short within such short notice and then had a month without any work at all )
