I get that but they also want to see how well can you do under an intense or a pressured situation. It really did happen to me multiple times so I think it's sort of important to the casting director and the director himself to test us and our abilities. On the plus side, it's easy once you get the hang of it! :)

#7 was also a really good one! Here is my motto for auditions and I use this all the time. I don't remember who told this to me or where I found it but it is not original. Here it is: Think of an audition as a job. Go in there, and read the script as if you are already in the movie. Don't think of it as a try out or trying to get a job. Pretend you are filming the movie right then and there. That is truly the only way your best will come out. -- Number 7 was very, very similar to that.

I resonate so much with what Will Smith said. I've always felt that there's this wall inside of me that prevents me from fully expressing certain emotions my own way. Whenever I dance, or act, I'd feel the resistance to let go but I've been trying to break it down. I know that once the barrier has been broken through, I'll experience growth rapidly as an artist. Not because of some magic that instantly makes me a skillful performer but because of the newfound willingness to make a fool out of myself in every way possible. Once you lift that mental barrier, you open yourself up to alot of opportunities.

Great tips! You should definitely continue the series! :) Denzel Washington's advice to stay true to you is probably the most important piece of advice given on a personal value level. Whether a person discounts their needs, wants, and values, or refuses to... that behavior is an unspoken lesson to other people on how to treat that person. Also what Will Smith said about be entirely comfortable with being embarrassing and ridiculous... vulnerability. Being able to make yourself at home in those hard places. I've been having trouble breaking through the discomfort as well, even when typing on the internet something I wouldn't usually say, I would think three times :"What if X says something...?" This is why I couldn't sing with my voice or act when asked. This is one of the biggest blockages we have in this society, what would others think of our actions? IT doesn't matter! Open up, be yourself, love more, speak up and be happy, it doesn't matter if you're happy and others are judging your happiness, they can be happy as well!

Being a former Hip-hop artist and now a manager of hip-hop artists I really enjoyed the #MakingIt as a Musician video. I have no intentions as of yet to become an actor (who knows) but I took away so much from this. I'm in sales at the moment and the Kevin Spacey segment about auditions really stood out to me because each of my sales presentations are like auditions and so far I've entered each one desperate for the sale but like Bryan Cranston said, my job is to present myself and my product and leave. The rest is out of my hands. Thanks for this Evan great job as always!
