I spent two weeks during a Christmas season at a fancy resort in Negril. They served lots of really good European style cuisine. It was good, but the best food I had was at the airport on my way home. Two of those locally made Jamaican beef patties almost had me staying for another couple of days, just for more of those patties. I'll never forget them. I'm going to try to make these your way. Thank you Morris.

Hands down the absolute best Jamaican beef patty recipe hands down! Wish I could upload a pic; they thought I had bought them from a Jamaican restaurant. I had to take pics of the process to prove I did it from scratch lol. I added 1 tbsp smoked paprika and 1/4 tsp of shrimp paste to give me a more Ghanaian bite to the filling. The crust was delicious and flaky as ever! Tasted amazing! Follow this recipe and guarantee you won’t be disappointed! Thank you... it was worth the buy!

From the American daughter of a Jamaican mum from Westmoreland, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! I finally perfected three different kinds of roti this year (been practicing for years), and She’s gonna be so proud of me when I perfect this and surprise her! 💗🤗 Edit: okay, I should have known this crust would be a complicated process. This is just like making croissants. I like a challenge though!

I think Jamaican patties are high up on the best foods in the world list, I started making my own, and on the spicy side, even the kids love making them, they may have to do the quick breathing to cool the mouth a bit, but the flavours they love it. As do I, I try to make sure I have some frozen as well when I can, so quick and easy, great on the way to work food, especially in the winter.
