Right down memory lane.. OctaMed was a big part of my youth in the early 90s. Such a straight forward and competent program for its time. Maybe I should get back to it :) Great video!

Awesome, nice to see more octamed content and tutorials on utube. This gave me some nice nostalgia vibes! I got into making jungle and drum and bass back in the early 90s with my A500 using startrekker, protracker and then octamed before jumping onto windows pc’s, definitely miss the simplicity of the old trackers tho. Time to revisit the Amiga and Octamed soundstudio I think!

@@andyamenz7440 unfortunately all of my amiga tracker music including disks and the few dubplates I got pressed are lost to time. I did manage to keep one dubplate which I ripped to my soundcloud. (Y.O.R - [Dub Plate - Year: 1997 - Amiga 500]).. the quality isn't great as the dub plate has worn down over the years. One more thing, if you use OctaMED sound studio 1, I have written a AREXX script for clickless loops using a crossfade routine. It's perfect for creating seem less loops of pads, strings, textures etc. you can find it on my GitHub (renewable-intel)

@@_fora I am going to check your stuff out, So most your stuff got lost? Dang man, Sorry about that, But ya ima check out the SoundCloud. I've heard of AREXX before but i don't really know about it, And ima go take a look at the GitHub also, Ya i got the sound studio version too. I got all the OctaMEDS, I only use the Emulator so i just find all the OctaMEDS online and you can download them, I first tried to use OctaMED 5, I didn't really know how to use it that much, But OctaMED 4 is what i like to use, Its easy for me too. I did try sound studio version but i didnt really know that ether, So i just use OctaMED 4, But if there's a version of OctaMED you want, I think there's a way you can download the ADF and put it on to your disk and then you just put it into your amiga, I also made some samples for the emulator but can also be put into a real amiga. But ya bro, Ima go check this out.

I suggest you to look at the octamed functions as you can start playback of a sampld from an offset, reverse, etc

yes it has its own filter in it. If you boost the sample, it gives it a high pass

When I play samples back in octamed they only play though the left channel. How do I get them though both outputs?

Might need to mess with something in the audio settings. Happened before, Just make the emulator sound mono

After reading the manual I found my answer, the two outer lanes play out of the left channel and the two inner play out the right and you need a mixer panned centre

hi mate I just brought a amiga do I need to get it upgraded on ram to make music im abit clueless of how it works and how do I get my samples onto it I have a s950 to sample from but how do I get other samples I may have ran through it? more so the ram/memory side how do I get a lot of memory if I need it to produce?

so i use the emulator, I think you got to upgrade the memory, I don't know much about the real amigas, But im sure there are some videos on it, just get some memory chips or what ever it is you may need, Hope this helped.
