I was thinking the same exact thing. I tried making a similar rhythm to the one in the tutorial but it was missing that shuffle element and it honestly did not sound that good. There is so much subtlety in these sounds that I think I need to dedicate a great deal of time understanding the individual types of percussion and the sounds they can make. Don't feel alone!
@empiresoulmusic3 ай бұрын
Nice video, well explained with very useful details, but would definitely mention that these hits are layered and already come from a break so the sounds match each other sonically, trying to reproduce this with single drum hits will not render the same results! For any viewers who would really like to reproduce this vibe and just not getting that vibe, you'd be best off chopping up a break and using the hits from that break so that all the hits gel together well. I'm pretty sure the same was done here, using a break from the BCee Drum & Bass sample pack.
@Unders3 ай бұрын
You appear to have missed the point in your rush to do some kind of expose it PSA. But thanks for watching.
@empiresoulmusic3 ай бұрын
@@Unders I don’t think I did miss the point, and I even see you made an extra video on how to make your own “shuffles”, so respect to you! Just clarifying that if you do chop up a break and use that to make your own beat, each hit will sound much more consistent, so it’s not necessarily about “picking the right 4 hits” but more about taking them from the same break so your beat would sound uniform, as it does in this tutorial. Search your feelings, and you know it to be true 😜
