Wow cool tip! I’m planning to practice for my wedding dress by making a sheer nude cupped corset with a layer of sheer blue and then blue beading. It’s been a while since I’ve sewed and I’ve never done a lace up back…

My wedding dress has boning along the bodice like you've shown, but it's taffeta and it has formed shadowing and lines around the boning, is there a way to fix that? I was thinking of putting padding between the layers of fabric so the outer shell looks smooth. Would that work?

Hello dear Heleyna ! I have the exact same issue with a dress i am making. Did the padding work ? Thank you so much for your response if you see this message ✨🪡

Could you tell me what size machine needle is needed for sewing over this kind of boning?

Jan and Nia 14 to 18, most likely 18.

Can RIGILENE BONING be used for hoopskirts?
@BridalSewing4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. Millinery wire would be cheaper.

I have used it but no use...... It's not giving Shape of hoop skirt.
@BridalSewing4 жыл бұрын
It wouldn't be the best choice if you are making a very very full ballgown slip. Also, keep in mind, the bigger the hoop needed, the wider the boning needs to be. Sometimes it even needs to be stacked. But, if you wish to make a super full hoop slip, I think it would be easiest to stick with modern tradition and use heavy flat wires. 🤗

@@BridalSewing should we put the bone into the lining or actual fabric?
@BridalSewing4 жыл бұрын
Either way. It really depends on the situation. I'd say, 90% of the time, you'll see the boning attached to the lining, but sometimes the outer shell layer needs support too.
