I heard of digital screen-tone, which made me learn about screen-tone... it's kinda funny because, I thought they colored it in with some ink pen or something.

Thanks for this and you answered a question I had about how to know which tones to purchase. How do you choose the decorative tones? Is it all about what looks interesting and cool to you or what looks like it would fit within your story? Thanks a bunch :)
@MyMangakaLIFE8 жыл бұрын
So glad I could help :D and to answer your question, honestly, choosing the decorative tones takes a little common sense for some and the others are solely for decorative purposes. Like, if my character has Leopard print pants, I'll buy Leopard print screen tone. If in know I'm going to have a sweet scene and when I sketch out the scene I kind of drawn in the design I want and lay out the composition that would look best in the panel, and then I'll search for tone that looks similar to what I drew out. If I can't find it, I'll draw it by hand, but more times than not I'll find screen tone that closely matches what I've drawn :)
@samanthathrower80698 жыл бұрын
My Mangaka LIFE Thanks, that makes prefect sense to me. In the beginning when I wanted to start using the tones I didn't know how to choose the right one; I thought you chose them at random, but I suppose it depends on the person. But then I think about a person who uses it digitially...they place the tone inside the panel and see whether it fits or not. Being a traditionalist forces you to think first before committing to something. Your process of imagining it in color and then black and white is a good process; not to mention how you choose the decorative ones. It helps me realize there's more to it and the outcome from taking that much care into it is very satisfying. :)

Thank you so much for your amazing videos! I have been looking up and studying a lot about different types of toning techniques and whatnot. Though, because of money, I will be doing my toning in digital, but I believe my question can be answered no matter the medium. The largest thing that I cannot wrap around my head are what tones to use where and how large or small they should be. I have yet to see a video or anything covering the correct way to use certain tones. ;-; Like, when should noise be used? Or, when should certain tones with certain densities be used. I have heard that tones and manga making should be black and white with very few midtones, but trying to figure out when to use a 20%/5% as opposed to say maybe 35%/15% tone, etc. Thank you again! God Bless! :)
@MyMangakaLIFE7 жыл бұрын
OMG! 💕💕💕 glad my video was useful! 💕💕💕 To answer your questions: all tone is of the dame density. The numbers you are talking about refer to the actual pixels found on the tone (the dots that make up the designs printed). Those number are only important if you are planning to layer the tone, because layering the wrong ones will result in a strange effect XD And all of your other questions regarding how big of a size you should use etc. were all answered in my video you commented under 💕😄 +Lyndarsia

Ohhh pero alguna vez probaste entrar en una editorial japonesa? Yo oí que no aceptan comic/manga que no sea japonés...pero no sé si es cierto
@MyMangakaLIFE8 жыл бұрын
Editores japoneses han aceptado cómics de autores que son de otro país :D Mientras usted vive en Japón , puede hablar japonés , y son buenos con los horarios, que se pueden publicar en Japón ♡
@MyMangakaLIFE8 жыл бұрын

Most of my characters are people of color. Should I still use screen tone for this? If not, what should I use?
@MyMangakaLIFE7 жыл бұрын
It's really up to your level of patience and your budget. You may get annoyed coloring them in with marker or busing screentone after a while if all of your characters have brown or caramel colored skin XD I have characters of all races so I don't use screen tone for all of their skin. Try using digital mediums and traditional mediums to see which suits your needs ♡ +Nurfrebelmoodel

Dear Lizbeth. I've been working on a manga for a while and am almost ready for printing. I am going to self publish (to keep ownership of my beloved manga), and am curious on how printing works. Could you do a video discussing this topic?

Allison Sanders She talks about self publishing, a bit in part 2. I'm not sure if you saw it already.

Oh dear, you seem annoyed XD lol At least I apologized in the video ^__^ Since the letters of your screen name are all together, I thought it was pronounced as one word lol (my screen name on Instagram has "_" between each word so people know it's made up of three words: "Sacred_the_manga") Makes it easier for ppl ^___^;;
@KK-ex9uc8 жыл бұрын
I couldn't make up a _ or . on the middle xD (instagram didn't acknowledge it) I'm annoyed, GREATLY annoyed, since it's my favorite character's name from the first novel I wrote But since it's you, I just can't get angry with you *.*

Ms. Jimenez!~ Do you ship Sheko and Skylar? I mean... It is your manga, but that's not important right now! xD Will we see romance from them in the future? Will we have to wait and see? Are they low-key cannon? What do you think?

Since I'm a broke artist, is it possible to make the dot screentone in manga without using screentone :"""")
@MyMangakaLIFE3 жыл бұрын
Oh, absolutely!😊💖 Mangakas shade their manga using many techniques: crosshatching, stippling, ink washes, markers, and digital are just a few different ways!🎉 Screen tone is just a traditional way of adding shadows that I wanted to share with you all and keep the tradition alive🥰 It’s still used in Japan (so I wanted to make a tutorial on it) but you don’t need to use it- use whatever is available to you and have fun!💖😊🎉

Screen tone is simply the traditional go-to medium for making manga :) Many young people in Western countries don't know about it, so I made a sure to share this info with you all~ +Pudgy Mcfry

@MyMangakaLIFE5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it'd pretty important for pushing out air bubbles from under the tone, and pushing the screen tone onto the paper without damaging it♡
