Made this tonight & it came out well! Being from Lafayette I'm always leery about trying something online that says it's Cajun (y'all know what I'm talking about) but when I saw you were from Maurice I figured I could trust it. lol. Thanks for the recipe!

Making it right now. I'm a Cajun born and raised in Lafayette but have lived in South Carolina for the past 10 years. I ate this growing up but never learned how to make it.

What is your Cajun seasons
@TheCajunChef5 жыл бұрын
It is called Nunus Cajun Seasoning. They do ship if you are wanting to try it. I also like to use slap ya momma or Tony's
@kathyswisher12137 жыл бұрын
would you use the butter if you were making Gumbo?
@TheCajunChef7 жыл бұрын
+Kathy Swisher I do not, it is too rich at that point. I have used half butter and oil and it comes out fantastic.

Hi, I'm looking forward to try this recipe, but I have a question: I suppose the spices mentioned in the meatball mix will all go into the said mix, but what about the spices you add in the stew, once you added the rest of the vegetables, will it be the same amount and the same spices as in the meat mix? Thank you.
@TheCajunChef7 жыл бұрын
+Elizabeth Larose the seasoning I added at the end was extra to what you season the meatballs with. I just use my favorite Cajun seasoning. You could use Tony' s or just salt and pepper

What happens if you don't use eggs
@TheCajunChef7 жыл бұрын
+Brian Smith I find the eggs hold the meatballs together better. If you don't use the eggs it's ok also. They will still hold up good.

Yes except that he skipped part of it.
@TheCajunChef3 жыл бұрын
I do apologize for that. I usually add a Cajun seasoning called Nunus but Tony's will work. I always season the gravy and add salt or pepper until it tastes well seasoned. I really do apologize for the inconvenience
@heatherbartee76603 жыл бұрын
Ok in the recipe listing, you did not put in what was the seasoning that you added after the meatballs were in the gravy. Since I had watched it previously, that step was skipped and the food was nasty. It was so bland that we couldn’t even eat it.
@show_me_your_kitties3 жыл бұрын
Why not just add seasoning after you tasted it lol

I know it’s by looking at it, and the technique you used! But your lighting is terrible! You need better lighting! Also another pro tip? Brown your meatballs first, and never add raw onions! Sauté them down first!
