I think diversifying your income/skills is a necessity nowadays. I recently started learning video production and I’m already seeing some results from doing gear reviews for an indie label’s channel, income and free gear. Every producer should learn video production. Putting yourself in front of people constantly is branding; it gets people to associate your craft and your name/face together. Ps. You’re 1000% correct about studio work taking a very long time to become a profitable venture. I’ve been doing it for almost a decade and I’ve only just been able to go full time in the last 2 years. Though granted, I decided to go independent rather than move to a major city. I don’t regret it though, and I don’t regret waiting until now to diversify my income/skills. That last decade was important, I needed to build upon my core skillset first. Thanks for the good content.

I just create and sell them, I haven't had an issue. If you created it and it's truly original, then you own the copyright as soon as it's created. If there's ever an issue, it'll be a pain and lawyer fees could be costly, but you will be able to win if someone stole your work.

Great content! One question: How do you keep your beats safe while uploading youtube at the begining? I assume they are watermarked but what about content ID and stuff. Do you upload through a distribution company? What stops someone from chopping the watermarks and rearranging the beat?

It’s part of it, you just have to accept some people will rip it, if it gets big it’s the easiest lawsuit ever. It’s just part of the game. There’s a lot of good people out there who don’t though
