You should do a one month challenge: each of you has to make a new youtube channel, completely removed from Corridor and your current identity, and see how successful each person can get theirs in a month.

There is a KZbin Triangle of success - Point 1 - Production Value - Point 2 - Personality - Point 3 - Information - You have to MAX OUT at one of those three things....Be the BEST at information - Be the BEST with production Value Or Be the Best Personality - and eventually - (and ultimately you want all three) - but nailing even just one can warrant some success on KZbin.

Love listening to you three chat! Great idea having the live chat visible for us even though we’re watching after the fact. It’s good context to have.

Great discussion. I've been so hesitant to pull the trigger on a more consistent content-creating channel, but it's tough. The idea and execution is always fun, but maybe I'm going at it the wrong way. The views I get are discouraging. You guys are an inspiration. I'll work on my British accent to improve viewership. Thanks!

In 2014 I bought a Sony FS700 for $5,000. Used it until 2023 for freelance video production, and rented it out to people who wanted a slow motion camera for their shoots. It made back the money I spent many times over, then I sold it in a package kit for $3000 in 2023.

Alf in Gandalf does mean elf, but it's not like it came from a mishearing of "grand elf". It's that "gand" and "alf" together as a name, means "Elf with a Stick".

No way Niko just called 160MB upload speed “cell phone internet.” I freaking WISH. My apartment’s Spectrum only gets 12mb UL speed and it’s ROUGH for competitive P2P gaming.

What camera capture setup do you all use for this setup? USB webcams fed into OBS? Multiple cameras with hdmi out to a capture card feeding to OBS? Thanks!

On the 35:00 ish convo topic about death of the author and whatnot, I personally think what you guys are hitting on is why using the words 'good' and 'bad' to define art is a pitfall. It comes down to enjoyability or displeasure and the qualities of the art in question is what allows each individual to determine that for themselves. Also in general everyone has a different sized 'consumption of art' portion to their life food pyramid so it may take way less to please someone with something mediocre (or, straightforward) than another person consuming the same art. All I really know is good, bad, or in between there's at least a quality to all art that is important in how it functions as a form of human communication. The thing that really peeves me is 'contrived' art which is very nebulous to define so I'll simplify it and call it 'art by committee'. Which typically takes route when the intended outcome of art is profit, not communication of ideas, worlds, characters, settings, questions. Random comment here but I felt compelled!

Regarding your guy’s conversation about making money on KZbin these days, I think the conversation goes much deeper when you realize that that conversation can’t even happen until you have the conversation about the actual systems that are put in place on KZbin to get your videos to be pushed out in order for you to make money. You can’t make money unless the recommendation system pushes your videos to people whether they are subscribed or not. I think that these days KZbin is way too inconsistent and also flawed in its system with how pushes videos. On one of my channels, I’ve had people constantly tell me that they don’t get notifications for my videos even when the notification bell was turned on. KZbin needs an overhaul, there’s a bug in the systems. Long gone are the days where KZbin cared about subscriber count, now they care more about view count which is why it is insanely hard for a smaller KZbinr, who is up-and-coming to create a community that will watch their stuff every week or however often they post. I feel like this is a truth that everybody needs to hear.

There was almost no good way to give Gandalf his name. But it was a problem they created for themselves by having him not know it when he was "born". The answer to this problem is just take the simplest option. Have someone give it to him (they just decide, because that's how names are really chosen). Or he just decides for himself. There does NOT need to be a story to it, and having that makes it more awkward.

To be a big youtuber you need to understand two things: - the content matters most, not editing, not jokes - you must showing interesting things and make it in a way you actually would watch - try to copy a successful youtuber to learn how to be good, the more you do it, the more you understand and you'll be able to create your own brand.
@TetratronicКүн бұрын
Couldn't be further from the truth. Your content could be the best thing ever, but if your thumbnail/title suck, nobody will ever click on it. Clickbait is, and always has been, the meta. Even in the early days of KZbin, when you couldn't upload custom thumbnails, people would splice a single frame in the very middle of the video, because KZbin chose that point as the thumbnail. I make videos too (not on this channel) and whoever watches my videos, likes them. But the views are hit or miss. Sometimes I get 1-3k views, but most of the time ~50. You can't convince me that the quality of my videos varies by that much between them. It's all about clickbait.

SAM why did you shut down the two most interesting topics that were brought up?! The “end of social media” is actually something I’ve never heard you guys talk about. And Elon Musk is an extremely relevant person to talk about right now. Y’all don’t need to shy away from voicing your opinions on things. Who cares if people disagree. You’re not Walmart or some giant corporation that needs to bend their perception for the zeitgeist.
