Maybe you could sell them as sort of a kit so people could make them with their kids. Have it already cut and people could paint it or whatever they want.

Hi Ben and Nicole! I thought that this was going to be a 40 minute commercial for a laser printer. However, it turned out to be so much more than that, too funny! I'm not and never have been able to read directions from the user manual and had anything turn out regardless of what it was. So, to watch you demonstrate how the unit works over and over again, I'd feel more confident in using one. Although, the computer part would stump me so there is always room for user error. I love the way that the laser leaves the cut edges burnt looking... like a raw edge. This was a lot of fun and I cracked up watching you take the goofy pic and then print it in the negative or inverted. Love both channels and the crossover between the two. You almost HAVE to watch both! 🤟

Anyone thinking about buying a laser cutter, please read this. I work at a manufacturing company that uses a laser cutter. We use it for all types of materials, like wood and metal as Ben demonstrated here. However, we also use it for various types of plastics. Here's the warning; if you plan to use a laser cutter for plastic, PLEASE do your research before cutting as some plastics will give off toxic vapors, such as cyanide gas. Even in well ventilated areas some of the vapors can be very harmful or fatal. So please, research the material you plan to use and make sure it's safe for laser cutting. I'm not discouraging anyone from buying a laser cutter and creating beautiful art to sell, as this could be a lucrative business (or a just fun hobby). I'm simply giving this warning to keep everyone safe and healthy. ❤️

I don’t plan to buy one but I have to say, showing is the potentials that we could do with it is awesome because it’s hard to relate when someone shows us how they use it for what they make. Sometimes we need the creative ideas from makers like you to spark that interest.

I have had the Xtool M1 for about two years now, and I absolutely love it - I was quite scared of the idea of laser, but with the enclosed box it makes it so much better. And the things it can do, the things you can make - I have done boxes, and book covers, and pendants and suncatcher type things all done in 3mm basswood. So much fun. Lovely to see you both, hugs to you and your family and have a great week :)

Its great to see some tutorials from fellow Aussies 😊 these all turned out awesome! I am currently deciding between the m1 and s1. Laser cutter/engraver machines are really neat to watch! That's awesome it can do those business cards! Love the Halloween project! Looks like you can put a lot of color into the UV resin, which I didn't really think was possible since it cures by UV light which has to get through the resin as far as I know. Always fun to see you both working together!

It seems like it would be really easy with a pattern like that to have your cutting pass on the front part, then engrave a channel in it as a second pass to hide LEDs wiring to have one light up too. You can get "flickering candle light" LEDs that might be fun to wire up behind a translucent orange pumpkin like that.

Have you ever tried puting the color contained only in the vile of a glow stick to make your resin phosphorescent? It works really well, and it is what I use being it is cheaper for me to do being you can get a glow stick for about a $1.

Just discovered your channel and absolutely love it. I do have a question though, many years ago I had a resin paperweight with a full dandelion inside it. I could never work out how they did it as the fluffy part looked so delicate. Do you know how to do this? Thanks

It is like a Cricut x1,000. I tend to photoshop all my items for my Cricut before sending them over. On the inverted subject, i really need to get on this experiment painting, I saw from other artists, to paint it in the inverted color so only your phone can see the proper colors. Really want to try that still. I got my image ready, but have not done it yet. It has been ready for many years I just never got to it.

if i would land my hands on one of these i would fill my house with everything... so maybe it's not a good idea XD (i already have my shelfs full of things and my walls of drawings). but the photo engraving was funny to watch lol, the results are really good tho! it's a cool machine not gonna lie, i like it.
@rebeccanelson2408Ай бұрын
Can we engrave on resin as well?
@BensWorxАй бұрын
I wouldn’t recommend it, some resins are corrosive and the fumes might cause corrosion on the laser parts, also the fumes even though you can direct them away, would be extremely harmful to breathe
@janreynolds2476Ай бұрын
So you put it on full contrast and then take it off to -48? 😊
@BensWorxАй бұрын
The contrast helps define the edges 😊

I am assuming you can also cut metal? If so… how thick can metal media be for cutting?

It can engrave on metal but I don’t think the 40w module would cut metal, there are other xtool lasers that will cut metal 😊
