Great video! Thank you for your generosity - I very much appreciate the addition of subtitles. This is a very simple recipe for Nut Butter with a very good results, and I like the convenience of not having to soak the nuts for 24 to 48 hours before processing --- Because the recipe has no preservatives, I do think that it should be kept in the refrigerator and be eaten within a month or so, of being made. The pre-roasting time for 15 minutes at 180*C, not only adds to the flavour of the nut butter but, it helps to get rid of unwanted organisms -- love it, natural and very healthy! Thank you for sharing

Yeah, you should remove them from the shell - you should also roast them for the best flavour. You can make it with the "raw" nut, but the flavour will be completely different.

So you don't have to add any type of 'oils' to get it to the 'paste' stage then? I always thought there was some oil added for it to get to that stage. Thanks for a great video. Will definitely try it out this week.
@FiveEuroFood11 жыл бұрын
You can definitely flavour them - spices or cocoa powder comes to mind. As for canning them - Definitely sterilise the jars... seal them up, I'm not sure how well it would react to being boiled in water to sterilise again, but you could try it?!

Hi luckyfire - this will work with, or without roasting. Without, the butter will be lighter and more creamy. Personally I prefer it roasted, but it's personal choice really :)

Hi Matthew - I'm not sure how much power it has to be honest... it's quite old, but it's just a standard food processor from Amazon... I think the motor is 400W maybe? You have to make sure that you're using an actual processor - I think it won't work with one of these "choppers" which is designed just to chop veg and stuff... good luck!

@FiveEuroFood11 жыл бұрын
Hey there. How long do you actually want to keep it? On its own it should last fine in the refrigerator for two weeks or so... Longer than that and I couldn't really say... make sure you sterilise the jar, keep it sealed until use and you can make extend the life a bit longer but it's not really something you could keep for months...
@CeasarCPH11 жыл бұрын
Well, I'm thinking of putting it in my fathers retail store, so I need it to last those 2-3 months just like commercial Peanut Butter. And regarding commercial Peanut Butter, what do they add in to last that long ? :)

dahne grassere asked if you can make Almond Butter with a blender, and the answer is Yes and quite a bit faster. There is one thing though, you do need a powerful blender. Blendtec or Vita Mix is what comes to mind (Blendtec is what I have). Also if you like Almond Milk but don't like the amount of time or all the steps it takes, you can just put two tbs of your Almond Butter in the blender with three or four cups of water, blend and you're done. And no the taste does not suffer at all.

No need to soak them first? What about getting rid of the enzyme inhibitors?
@FiveEuroFood9 жыл бұрын
Oj, that sounds a bit to scientific for me. I have no idea what enzyme inhibitors in almonds actually do, but no - you don't need to soak them. I think they'd be too watery, and the point is to have a paste where the only moisture is their own oil. By storing in the fridge and eating quickly they won't have time to spoil.

Disappointed! The music was SO LOUD I couldn't hear most of the instructions! Either he didn't explain how ground almonds became "butter" (by adding.... what?) or, he did, but because the music (supposed to be in the background, or better, not at all in this case), was so loud I couldn't hear what he was saying.. ?! I'll just have to go look for someone else who has the common sense to make his instructions actually heard!
@FiveEuroFood9 жыл бұрын
Alma Zica Thank you for your polite comment... I'm sorry you didn't hear the instructions, but that is the *exact* reason why I subtitle my videos. In the recipe instructions I say exactly what appears on the screen in the subtitles (I write myself a script, and then copy/paste that script into the subtitles) because I'm just an amateur videographer. If it was really that hard to understand, then of course I always link to my original post on my blog, which will have more detailed descriptions, so I hope that helps.

you can state your case without insulting, your words sum up your character, manners, conscience, and soul, they say nothing about me, they just show that there are people who use the internet as a dumpster of their own waste matter, sad. Feel sorry for those who have anything to do with you if you are so incapable of allowing another person their opinion, which, in this case, is totally justified. But go on, the world is a haven for bullies. Only one more insult and I'll report you.
