Another great video. Thank you. Pandesal are the best! I might try to make it, but I'm fortunate that the Pandesal dude stops right outside my fence each morning so I can get eight of them piping hot for only 20 Pesos (40 cents). I am so thankful! I like my pandesal with strawberry jam (or mango marmalade), with over easy eggs instead of toast, and with my southern-style sausage gravy since I can't seem to find buttermilk biscuits in the Philippines.

Hi! If anyone wants to make each roll the same amount of dough, each roll will be 48 or 49 grams if you make 24 rolls. Also the rolls were delicious! My family loved them.

Hello. I spent two years in the small town of San Antonio Zambales. There was a bakery that made the most delicious rolls in the morning and if you didn’t arrive before 7am they were sold out. I was always under the impression that those rolls were made with rice flour, maybe I was wrong. Will definitely try your recipe and see if it brings back memories. Salamat.

When I was about 3 or 4 years old my grandfather and I would sit in front of the television many afternoons watching Flash Gordon (yes, Buster Crabbe) reruns eating buttered pandesal after dunking them in coffee. After finishing off the pandesal we'd drink what was left of the coffee. That also started my coffee drinking.

I made it a couple of days ago it was amazing and very airy..... i used marie biscuits and it tasted good but i got 18 buns out of the dough which was fine because they were chonky sized... but i would suggest increasing the sugar a little if you want it sweet sweet not universal-use sweet. Highly recommended recipe stays fresh for a couple of days reheat in small over or in a pan over the stove keep flipping the bun to prevent burning Note: use oil on your hand when kneading to prevent the dough from sticking to your hands ☺️

I did a few things different. I added 4 eggs, 1 and 1/2 cup of milk and 4-5 tablespoons of butter. Everything else is the same except when I covered it to rise, I put it in the oven with the oven off next to a pot of boiled hot water. Let that sit in the oven for 1 hour but half way through change the water out. Also I found it better at 350 degrees for about 16 minutes. 20-25 minutes was a bit over cooked for me. Otherwise it was delicious.

Okay okay, I have tried like three other recipes for pandesal before this one and each one was such a failure. This one though, I made last night and solidly the easiest and only one that worked so far! It was super fluffy and sweet and exactly what I wanted. Also took the advice for sweet biscuits cause I forgot to get something for the breadcrumbs the other night and Thanksgiving Thanksgiving traffic is absolute hell so I found a travel size container of nilla wafers and it had just enough crumbs to make four batches. So, thats a thing, lol

I just watched a YT short of you explaining why we should make our own bread, and that's exactly why I want to start--if I'm eating it as often as I do, it's best to make it myself to ensure the best quality for my health. Because of this, I prefer to not eat as much butter, so can I substitute the butter for oil and if so, how much oil?

Can’t wait to try this recipe. I’ve been on the hunt for a good recipe, but none had the right flavor. It was missing that smell that you would get when you first open the paper bag of them and a certain sweetness. I do have a question regarding the type of yeast. Typically , when I use active dry yeast, I would need to proof before adding to a mixture. For this recipe can I skip this step? And if I need to proof, to give it a little kick start I add sugar. How would this affect the ingredient measurements?

Hi Jeanell I tried this recipe and it tasted great...only thing is it turned out a little dense and not as fluffy. What do you think I did wrong? Thanks
