On your tofu avocado salad I would add some freshly grated ginger along with lemon or lime juice (which will prevent the mashed avocado from turning brown) along with your mayonnaise.

@@YUCasJapaneseCooking: Here is a signature salad dressing that my father devised. It uses avocado and tomatoes diced. Lime juice from 2 limes; (2 lemons optional) shoyu grated fresh ginger one garlic clove minced a little salt some sugar to taste a little ground black pepper Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Directions: start with the lime juice. sprinkle some of the lime juice directly on the avocado to prevent it from turning brown. Then in a separate bowl or jar, mix all the ingredients and then the Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Shake it up and pour over the avocado and tomatoes. NOTE: Take into account that you have two limes when determining how much sugar you want to balance out with the lime and shoyu. My father made it without the sugar (He grew up in Paris so he didn't like sugar in salad dressings.) I started adding the sugar because my wife felt that without it the dressing was too suppai. I like it either way. I have used this dressing on a regular lettuce salad or placed lettuce on a serving bowl and the avocado and tomato salad over it with the dressing. I've also used this dressing as a marinade for chicken. Please give it a try.

I thought mayonnaise wasn't allowed for pregnant people because of the raw egg ?
@YUCasJapaneseCooking
@YUCasJapaneseCooking 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your message! The reason why raw eggs are not allowed is because of the possibility of bacteria on the egg shells, so unless you're using egg rice, you don't have to be so nervous. 😉
