Made this for my parents in secret. They were going to go on a date night the other day to an expensive restaraunt, but i decided to send them out on a scavanger hunt type thing with my sister to keep them destracted while i made the dish. After i was done plating both dishes for my parents, a few minutes later they walked in wearing some nice clothing my sister picked out for them and they sat down at a candle lit dinner table. The dish turned out spectacular and now i'm ready for more recipes.

Depends on the tomatoes. San marzano tomatoes are often considered the best sauce tomatoes (at least in Italian cuisine - not sure what the popular opinion is for French), but they're available fresh only three weeks out of a year, so the rest of the year your only choice *is* canned. I mean, sure, you can use roma or another cultivar, but...c'mon.

I loved Ratatouille. The scenes of Paris were so gorgeous for a kids movie 😭 I remember watching it when I was a kid and I just. Was in shock at how beautiful the animation was. Even now I still dream about visiting France. I remember being in highschool and taking French class and understanding almost everything they said in French XD now that I've been out of school for a couple years, I lost most of what I learned. But nonetheless, it will always be my favorite movie

I know, right? I mean, I'm not french but I see it all the time. Like, an authentic Italian minestrone here in America is like tasting what I imagine seeing a unicorn feels like, yet Italian hosts will apologize for having to resort to such a common dish. I topped the veggies with a mixture of Italian-seasoned bread crumbs, some finely grated Parmigiano Reggiano, some salt, some pepper, and olive oil (all mixed together until the crumbs feel and look like slightly-wet sand)..... and cooked in a fairly large, oval ramekin.... served family style. (Ratio of crumbs to cheese... about 3 to 1, respectively)

And yes I am positive,you don't put vinaigrette on ratatouille this is completely inhuman, vinaigrette is for salads.
