Rice and Peas using Canned Beans
Ingredients List
---------
3 cups water
3-4 spring onions
2-3 scotch bonnet peppers
Thyme
1 tsp salt and black pepper (put to your taste)
1 can Gungo peas (drained and rinsed)
1-2 tbsp green seasoning
1/2 can coconut milk
All purpose seasoning (optional)
1 tbsp butter
2 1/2 cups jasmine rice (basmati can also be used or rice of choice)
Steam on low for 15 minutes covered until cooked. Fluff the rice and let it rest 5 minutes covered before serving so all the flavours can combine.
