The different voices and all this editing makes your videos incredibly difficult to watch/follow along with. Especially for people with sensory problems. They also go incredibly fast and I can't even make out what is on screen sometimes.

Well, it only took me 5 hours xD It's not really usable since I can't figure out the transparencies situation plus the head bone is weird. As a Maya veteran this is very frustrating, but a great exercise. I was only trying to convert a hair ^^; Thank you so much for the detailed but easy tutorial!

Hi Weiss! I saw your other message but I couldn't find it to reply to it D: (BUT yeah unfortunately we have to use blender as a middle man to get it into s4s) There is a way to turn the colour back on in blender, which I did in the how to make cc objects tutorial, can't remember how atm right now though! As for the bones it's defo something to get used to, using the bone list is helpful to get the right one instantly, the weight painting is a tad diff to maya too.. but if in doubt go for the main head joint don't worry about adding on the shoulder etc to start just so you can get your feet in! I'm really glad you found the tutorial helpful!! If there's anything you're stuck on or need help with let me know :D x

@@PixifiedTips Thank you so much for your reply! Not only it was helpful but the editing made the pain of failure all that easier to bear, awesome job! It's the typical "lose 2 hours looking for the solution, finally ask in the comments and immediately find the answer" situation, sorry for the spam hahaha The hair was invisible because of the value for the Z transparency, but that took a while to find lol The strangest thing is that I'm doing a male undercut that should work find with the head bone, but perhaps I should try the neck one next time. The hair also looks great both on maya and blender, it just gets really messed up on import. I'll keep trying though. Thanks again :D

Hi SIlver! This is because the smaller you make a texture the more blurry it'll be. It's a finiky business to make sure the size is big without it covering something else. I have made a vidoe on how to move the location of the textures after you move the uv somewhere reasonable here though! kzbin.info/www/bejne/sH7PpnaPa7Kmjqs Otherwise this is just 3D 101, the smaller a texture is the blurrier it is

uv texture isnt applying? it comes up as image and wont open unless import but then its an image..

Hi Uchia! RIGHT to download the older version of blender you must type blender and the version number you want into google, here's the one I think I used in this video: (i normally use 2.76 tbh) download.blender.org/release/Blender2.70/

Hi sSq! Sounds like what yo uwere trying to import was either: 1. Too big (too many quares / topology is too complicated) attempting with something simple first to check it works is helpful for that 2.you may have not joined the cc mesh to the existing sims_4_studio_meshes the exact same out of meshes should be reimported into s4s

To create a reference object, go to: cas pick an item exportmesh this is now your 'reference item' ! My modern tutorials on creating clothes /etc have this in a slightly easier way to follow!

Hi Aluzatec, The best way to use these tutorials is to: -Watch step 1 -pause the video -do step 1 -unpause the video -watch step 2 -pause the video -do step 2 -unpause the video and continue it this manner :D Just like life you can't do it all in one go, take it one step at a time x
