*DISCLAIMER* As a few of you have asked I thought I'd plop this here :D You do NOT need maya to do the tutorial! -------Everything I do in Maya you can do in Blender!---------- (At the time of filming I only knew blender for 3 days but knew Maya for 11 years so I could work faster in that one hehe x ) SO Ultimately EVERYTIME I say "something something" Maya, Stay in blender and do it there! :D

​@@cutscenograph Heh no problem! Although I will say even if someone doesn't put a disclaimer down, All 3D programs work the same such as all graphic editing programs! It's all about the end result ( You rarely need to use the same thing someone is using and that goes for all life things really) If you don't know how to do a thing in the program of your choice it may just mean you need a bit more experience using your program x

I tried making a mini skirt but idky what happen when I try it in game the waist part seems to be a bit like idk how to explain it but like a see through leggings

Hi Aloe! As the model's limbs stop at a certain part, you'll either have to pull the leg vertices up to match the skirt or make the skirt match the legs. in 3D programs it can only show what's been made. If this is your first creation I suggest something a little simpler to start (or beginner blender tutorials) so you can gain more practice as a 3D creator as it will help your understanding loads!

Hello, I have made a mesh, but when I put it into the Sims Mods it gets spikey at the bottom of the skirt. Do you know how to fix that?

Hi Dnt! That means your mesh is not fully weight painted! In blender click the skirt, check the joint / bone tab, pick a bone select wegith paint mode (if yuo're in edit / obj mode) and see what bone you don't need and remove them for instance if you have a hand bone on your skirt get rid of it! It should only have legs and hips (make sure you use another skirt for reference or to directly transfer the weight from) After you've gone through it, you can paint the bottom half of the skirt while selecitng the right joint! I suggest however, until you're used to weight painting, select a skirt from s4s that matches yours very well, then repeat the video steps x

problem, my dress mesh is not okay in game the sim body is clipping through and sliders do not affect it, i vertex painted, automatic weights....what could go wrong....i did edit uv0 to get better textures though after the whole process where did i go wrong please help me

When I reply properly I'll have a troubleshoot set of questions, to make sure EVERY step was done! Because I have a feeling something may have been missed x

OK Troubleshooting: 1. Did you export a reference top from sims 4 studio? 2. Did you export a nude body from sims 4 then open it in blender 2.79? 3.in blender did you import your custom top on the nude body, did you; click your mesh > click the bone section 0:47 > in UV maps section > rename uv_0 > click plus then rename the uv to uv_1 3. did you click append > click your reference clothing and select all the files that are have sims4studio_mesh in their name > click append from library 4. select all reference files and join them > did you select your reference mesh then shift select your custom top > click the wrench > click add modifier > click data transfer 5. in source object 1:10 > did you put in your reference > did you click face corner data > click uv's > in layers pick uv_1 in the by name uv_1 > did you click apply? 6. Did you hide your reference mesh (click the eyeball) > did you click your custom top in edit mode > did you click the pin > did you click your nude-mesh in edit mode > did you deselect if it was highlit 1:22 > did you click the box > did you select section from the uv > did you delete the selection you picked > make sure you get rid of all of them otherwise skin will show (this is you deleting the body) 7. did you click top then shift click your nudemesh> did you join them> did you save it? did you close it 8. Did you open that file in blender 2.70 > did you click your ref then your studio mesh >did you go to weight paint mode> did you select > transfer weights > did you check it transferred? 9. did you delete the reference> did you select solid 1:50 > did you select vertex paint > did click the eyedrop and click the green > did you click paint > did you click set vertex> did you save. 10.did you import the mesh on every lod? This will do it! If you need more in depth help on your specific thing however I do do personal requests on my patreon! xx

Hi Spartan! Sorry for the delayed message x Near the button that says edit mesh there's a circle, it's possibly on solid click it and select texture! If you've any other starter blender questions it's possible you may need to learn a bit more blender first Or look up specific videos on what you're trying to do! That's what I usually do when I'm not sure of things :D

Hi Laforets! in sims 4 studio, in cas, pick nude, export mesh. open mesh in blender, then save as obj or whatever file you need! I'd keep a copy so you don't need to look everytime!

Troubleshooting! 1. Did you drag out the section to reveal more spaces? 2. Are you using the correct version of blender?

Sounds like you may not be using the right version! In this video Two blenders are used: Version: 2.79b for doing the ref And blender version 2.70 (This is needed to get the sims ANYTHING into the game) Please make sure you’re using the right versions for the job! I’ve added the 2.79b into the description box

@@bloodbvnnikore not necessarily better BUT it looks different from the one you're using! Some of the blender versions are missing things, (Hence why you need to use 2.70 and the other one together when doing the Sims) so when following the tuts on specific things like these, to be on the safe side, and if you want them to look like what other people have, use the exact same version!

Hi Eden! Right it sounds like it's time to troubleshoot, Firstly remove all other clothing mods so you can find your creation instantly! Now; 1.in sims 4 studio did you click> create 3d mesh> cas>clothing top nude and export it? 2.Did you go back into sims 4 studio, click create 3D mesh> cas> clothing and find one similar to what you were making and export it (as ref)? 3.did you open your nude in blender 2.79? 3a. did you model and uv your clothes? 3b. are your clothes a seperate model to your nude? 4.on the clothes you made did you click that triangle shape 0:49 ? 4a. did you rename the uv to uv_0? 4b. did you click the plus and call it uv_1? 4c. Did you click file > append and selected your ref clothing> object folder then selected every file that said s4studio mesh? 4.d did you select all studio mesh file and join them (ctrl +j) ? 5. Did you click your ref, then SHIFT select the outfit you made , then clicked the wrench and select add modifier? 5a. did you then select data transfer? 5b. in source object did you select your reference? 5c. did you click face corner data on? under it did click uv's > change all layers to uv_1 then by name to uv_1 1:16 and press apply? 6.with your top selected, in edit mode did you click the pin on the bottom left? 1:20 6a. did you then click your nude? (which is called s4studio_mesh_1) then turn on edit mode? and deselect everything? (press a) 1:22 6b. did you press the square on the bottom left? 1:23 6c. did you select sections of the nude that were covered by the body and erase them? 1:30 6d. did you click your top > shift click your nude and join them? (ctrl +j) then save it? 7. Did you open your file in blender 2.70? 7a. did you select your ref, shift select your top then turn on weight paint? 7b. did you click transfer weights? 7c. did you delete your ref? 7d on your top did you select solid, then go to vertex paint? Did you click the colour > click the eydrop tool and eyedrop the green? 7c. did you click paint in the bottom left, then set vertex colours and save it? 1:55 8. did you import it on every lod? Sounds like something in line was missed. Let me know if you need anymore help!

Use ANY 3D program :D I'm sure I added a disclaimer about that haaha xx This goes for everything, you just need a 3D program. If you don't have photoshop, identify what photoshop is i.e. photo editor and grab any! They all work the same :3

You can use Any 3D program you like! they all do the same thing! :D (This goes for photo software too, so if you ever see a video using a certain app you don't use, identify what it does at a core and find an alternative that does the same thing) If you're new to blender I suggest doing tutorials to learn it first and come back when you're ready xx
