One of my favorite books ever, is such an eye-opener! Both for myself and for relationships I have been in, and even for my family relationships. The vast majority of people are trying to give and receive love, but most of them don’t know that there are completely different ways to express it, and receive it… One person might have their favorite way of showing love as getting gifts, and another one might want quality time. And they’re both doing the thing that they like and wondering why the other person isn’t reciprocating! Such a powerful book. Love you man!

I find that a good way to figure out what a person's love ❤️ language is, is to watch what they often give to you. What people give is often what they like!

My main love language is 100% quality time. The thing about this love language is that it means that every single other love language is your main one 😂 to give a brief explanation, in order to actually spend QUALITY time, you need to focus on your partner and be present with them. That means talking and having meaningful conversations (words of affirmation), cuddling (physical affection), cooking together (acts of service) and for gifts it can be doing something together to give to each other. Quality time is the most diverse love language imo, because as long as you're actually connecting with each other, they'll feel loved

7:30 THANK YOU! Too many men think PDA, affection or physical touch is purely sexual, it makes them look so so close minded when they think that physical touch is only sexual. You have hugging, holding hands, stroking their hair, touching their face, stroking their face, stroking their hand whilst holding their hand.

My ex confirmed my love language is Physical touch,,, he told me recently that he appreciated it.🤦🏾‍♀️ my now boyfriend gets awkward when i hug him out of nowhere especially when we are with people,,, he thinks i’m trying to get sexual😫 it always hurts..But when i stop touching him on purpose, he feels it and always thinks something is wrong.☹️

The "acts of service" category really resonated with me, especially what you said about not taking it for granted. I guess I didn't realize until now that my love language was definitely acts of service as I was the only one always (gladly) cooking and taking care of the house and walking the puppy. But one day he said to me "I was able to take care of myself before you", and that really hurt. REALLY BAD. As if everything I was doing for us and for him was absolutely worthless. **sniff** Anyway...
@potapotapotapotapotapota
@potapotapotapotapotapota Жыл бұрын
Part of the reason it hurts so much is also because people do these acts of service as a way to earn someone's love. It's a performance orientation, which always leads to bitterness and anger.

Same thing happened to me.. after cleaning after my ex, doing everything for him to the point of even giving him everything he needs in hand, one day out of no where he says "you dint do anything for me, my mom does everything for me".. sure his mom does it but all the hard work i did felt worthless 😔 lost all my feelings for him instantly

Hey I have always wanted a good Woman in my Life. I am tired of the bitchy, deceptive, materialistic types. The thing is men let their pride get in the way and let logic and reason dicate their emotions which is why marriages do not last because of singular ways of thinking. But hey I absolutely love a homebody sweetheart and a caring wife. This is something as a guy you learn to appreciate more and more as you get older. 95.9% of men do not understand this. Hey if you get a divorce please hit me up. I work 2 1/2 jobs, am a musician, love people but at the same time very aware of my surroundings and the bs. Eccentric and intelligent conversations are great but I enjoy the emotional silence I have with my significant other. I think those types of relationships are the greatest. Where two people are not just lovers, but best of friends, compardes in arms etc etc etc. If you want someone warm hearted and not just out to look at what type of body you have or how pretty you look. If you value traditional relationships but know how to harmonize and synchronize and be creative to keep that attraction going then give me an opportunity to be yours by responding here 🥰😌😘

Genuinely both of my relationships failed because of this😁This information should definitely be out there because just “loving” someone is not enough if they don’t feel it due to their perception and expectations of how it will be communicated

I wish everyone would know all this. We all need schooling reform and start teaching young people some really valuable stuff, like this. This is actually so basic, yet essential for any relation, whether it's your partner, friend, boss or family member, as you said. I've learned about love languages only couple years ago and, oh boy, I wish I knew them earlier, because it would make a HUGE difference in my life. I would also understand myself so much better back in the day, not only others. Essential, absolutely essential knowledge! Thank you for talking about this!

Love languages are soooo important! I was dating someone who had words of affirmation as their main love language and as a quiet “keep to myself kind of person” I found trying to fill his love language draining!!! I also realized that I wasn’t settled in the relationship because I had such a heard time saying genuinely nice things I admired about him! Really appreciate this video

I love giving gifts! So do I receiving them. It's not my main love language but I love it a bit more than the average person. I'm very creative so I like to make diy stuff to give to my partner. I love words of affirmation as well so giving letters is my favorite thing!!!! I even mail them because it's cute lol. But overall, I feel really happy when my partner gets me chocolate, like the cheap kind, because it's our thing. People don't understand that giving gifts can mean giving you smth as simple as gloves or hairclip. If I need it, and I can use it everytime, I'll be the happiest girl alive

Seriously, thank you for this video it gave me so much to work with. I’m in a relationship with someone I love deeply, but also one of the most challenging relationships I’ve ever been in due to differences in communication styles. She is words of affirmation and I am physical touch, I never had someone with WoA and her relationships were with guys that were unaffectionate physically, so despite many other variables that kept us connected and realizing we had something special, communicating love to receive that emotional fulfillment has required some focused effort. Was able to learn a lot just sitting down and talking with her, but just the few tips you offered has inspired a lot of new ideas on how to make sure I can continue maintaining communication of how I feel about her in a way that she understands. 10/10 amazing job, thank you.

As soon as you got to 'Gifts' I was like yeah that's me. When you got to 'Acts of Service' I was like yeah that's me too, but I see acts of service as gifts too. e.g me cleaning your room for you is my gift to you. The gift category isn't just material, it's all about the intention behind the gift

Know yourself, your feelings, analyze it, express and communicate with each other. But most people beat around the bush instead of speaking their mind that's why most can communicate. You have to take any argument or fight as a brain storm session to identify the issues. Then find the solutions for it. So matter what you do, if your partner doesn't feel loved then it is no love. So you have to define what love is for yourself and tell your partner. This is the key and vice-versa.

I think relationships are much easier if the love languages are compatible. He didn't really touch on that. For example, I hate housekeeping. If I am with someone who values acts of service, it would be easy to become resentful.

I was confronted several times for forgetting birthday 😂. Today, social media makes less or no quality time at all in relationships or even marriage life. It’s a sad reality that can modulates broken relationship and divorce. Posting pictures, chatting, addiction, cheating, flirting, and etc are possible with social media.

Love this video!!! Awesome work. I think I have the hardest love languages for partners to keep me satisfied. I like Quality time and acts of service. People never understand that so I start to feel empty. Quality time is hard for a lot of people to understand and I tend to date home bodies that never want to do anything. Plus I love my alone time so I think it natural for people to assume time together is all I would need to be happy but it’s not true. I want to do things with my partner.

I kinda lucked out the girl I've been talking to is long-distance. But I'm pretty sure at least one of hers is words of affirmation, which is good for the long distance. Because I believe her other is the last one which I can't really do right now. But one thing I don't have to worry with the words one on the don't putting her down or criticism both I couldn't, for one, I don't have anything to yet but for other reasons too. But anyway, I'm literally gushing over here 40 year man what has happened to me. Great video Clark all of them thank you for doing what you do
