I went from no anxiety in 2020 to a full-blown socially awkward nervous wreck for the past 4 years. I got tired of it, I used to be outgoing and easy to talk to. I made a promise to myself a month ago that I would stop this endless cycle of self harming thoughts. I forced myself to go to in person classes now, and it's going well and I purposley picked the classes that require the most partcipation in groups and discussion. I wanna crawl in a hole the entire time im there, but I feel that trial by fire is my only option to get out of my head. I hope I overcome my own mind, im trying to remind myself that it's okay to fail and be wrong, so hopefully, this method helps.

I realized now I could've started 10 different businesses, failed at 9.... but 1 success is all I need.... i've always known that, but I focused on the goal / the success / rather than lets just do something, even if the business idea flops... just do something .. and here I am posted on your video about my failure due to inaction. Imperfections are where humanity is. Imperfect is real. The flaws of things give those things character. When I started painting, I learned to look at an object over and over. There is beauty in every flower, not just the flower that most closely approaches symmetrical perfection. I say approach because perfection, if possible, could only be momentary because all things are in perpetual motion. This is also not taking into consideration the subjective nature of perfection since beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. I really appreciate your statement, "Don't let perfect be the enemy of good." Thank you for this video. It is "perfect" for inaction breaking.

When I'm overthinking.... I lean on my value system. Tapping those specific resources....spirituality (prayer) health and well-being (workout, bike ride, walk, sweat), call a friend or family member, pick up my guitar, create, or gratitude journal. The hardest part is "trusting" your value system will be the fix as you push to take action towards it. Great content!

I find ‘dont be afraid’ to be a nonstarter, personally. Its very hard to reason yourself out of fear and easy to blame yourself for failing to not be afraid. ‘Feel the fear and do it anyway’ may be a better angle, for some.

@thelittlesthobo7100 well, step one is just signing up for an opportunity, and then figuring out how to make it happen. But forcing yourself do to it once is key, then just repetitions. I was an introvert engineer, but accidentally got into sales and cold calling. Thousands of reps later and hundreds of public speaking appearances later I'm definitely a completely different person, but that's over 12 years. Just challenging yourself and then raising the bar over time is the way. Good luck 😊🔥💪 let's crush 2025!

I live by the motto " Do What You Want Be What You Are" It's a 70's song from Hall & Oates but it really says alot. Just do what you want....just be what you are. It simplifies things for me when my head is running away wondering all the things that slow us down. The do what you want part is easier. Being what you are is more difficult especially if you have not been living as your authentic self, you will lose people when you start.

"Done is better than perfect, because perfect never gets done". Such a mind blowing quote, I love it! And you cannot be more right when saying that overthinking IS attachment! For real, this video was so eye opening and liberating for me. I've been struggling with perfectionism for almost all my life, not because I don't believe in my self worth that much, but because I have been constantly judged so much from my family environment that I always struggle to keep up with all the expectations that others are having from me and, most of the times, I end up doing almost nothing or the bare minimum and I end up being even more judged about me being inactive. I will consider using this quote as my arguing point and I will keep trying my best to detach myself from this whole thing, because it's a horrid life to live. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, may God be constantly laying His blessings before your feet ❤

What I just did a few hours ago was that I was so goddamn sick of that voice telling me how crappy I am and undermining EVERYTHING I do, that I started talking back to it. Literally. Hell others would've thought I was crazy cause I was talking to noone in their eyes, but I talked back against even those thoughts. And I simply repeated my counter so many times till the voice shut up. Till I could feel it sulking. That ranged from 5 to 10 or more times. It was exhausting but so was that voice by itself. And after around 20mins of this, I felt better. It was quieter in my head. And it felt so amazing. Heck even now it is telling me that "why are you sharing this, that's so personal to you and oh no what if someone disagrees with you, which means you're wrong and a failure" I have to repeat: so what? Why would I care about what people that aren't in my situation think? It helps me. And that's what matters. Tldr: talk back to the overthinking voice. Argue with it. Question what it says. Yes it will feel unnatural. But push through it until you can feel your head being quieter :]

@fl629819 күн бұрын
@animeartist097 I hope it helps you🫶 What I've learned since then is also, that talking back to it is good sometimes, but so is simply observing your thoughts without judgement and letting them float by. Like clouds in the sky or leaves on a river. It helps to visualise it and let them go. I choose the method depending on which one I think I need :]

I like the 'be where your feet are' tip, whereby, if you start to overthink/get overwhelmed, take a moment and focus on where your feet are, I get myself to say what I see right in front of me like 'my feet are on the pavement, there are green trees around me, I'm walking the dog, the birds are singing' and it helps bring me back to the present moment.

One thing I find helps my nervous system when I'm worked up about what other people will think of my work is to remember that the reason we care about what other people think is that we're a social species and that for our ancient ancestors being rejected from the tribe could literally mean death. So it's understandable that we are programmed to worry about rejection BUT we don't live in that world and rejection DOESN'T (generally) mean death anymore. We can reassure ourselves that rejection is a lot safer than it used to be, even if our nervous systems haven't fully caught up to that fact, and we can do that without getting mad at our nervous system for trying to protect us from what it sees as a genuine threat to our existence. Sometimes we just have to - lovingly - parent our own nervous system.

So I have an overthinking strategy that I think really helps a lot. If you're an over thinker, especially about the future. Recognize that. You know how to think ahead, you know how to think about the details and the little things that could happen. You could think about anything. Instead of mulling it over and listing things out, think " wow yeah I think I have way more scenarios covered than I could ever need ". And then just TRUST yourself that you will handle whatever happens. You're smart, you can react and adapt. If you can come up with 20 plans just in case, you can absolutely come up with one good plan on the fly when & if it's needed.

Me and my grandpa started going to the driving range every week to shoot golf balls. The first time, I used a right handed club and then I practiced with a left handed club the next week. A key takeaway from this is I would do a lot of practice swings. And every time I would try to make sure I made a good shot, I would do these practice swings and funny enough they got worse every time before I made the actual shot, then I would either miss or it would be a weak swing. Then I sort of let my body go and I would just take the shot. And every time I did this, my ball would fly further and further. And this ties into a lot of aspects of my life such as school. I would start crushing tests and doing extremely well when I learned how to live in the present moment and letting go of all connections to the past, future, and what I would do by overcomplicating it.

Everything you said perfectly related to me, like this has been every single day of my life for the past year. Thank you, so, much.

My mother would say “I’m going to do something, even if I do it wrong.” I sometimes find myself saying that to get started & it sometimes works for me. 😉

You made so many good points. I overthink often and I have found that several of the strategies that you’ve listed work very well for me.

Something thats helped me with overthinking is to admit to myself i dont know everything. Even if i cant see a path forward to achieving my goals, doesnt mean the path doesn't exist. Sometimes you gotta just take a few steps in the direction you wanna head towards before you can see things more clearly

Best most helpful video. Never thought about momentum but i often say if i can just get to my desk. Then i realize I’ve worked 4 hours.

On over-preparing, takes the human-ness out of performance or product. "People do not care about how much time and thought youve put into something, they care about the results, and the product."

This is really great advice. I will definitely put these in action. Thanks for posting these videos. I’m not really religious, but when I’m feeling anxious I have to stop and tell myself to “Give it to God”. This really helps me slow down and gives me a feeling of I’m not alone. I also look at the root word of Worry, which means to strangle. I worry a lot, translates to, I’m strangling my thoughts.

Finish the one thought. Complete the whole journey of that thought. Instead of jumping from one to the next. Sometimes when Im done with just the one... all else has faded. - i am doing a project in school on sustainable higher frequency and found your channel - absolutely love you and your grounded take on concepts. I've watched maybe 6 videos till now... and have so much to reply, and so much gratitude... yesterday i started my channel, and it is as you say - cringe jaja... BUT - I took action 🎬 and all will be revealed in time. Thank you 😊

That was really helpful. I'm guilty of all those things. Knowing that more information is not the answer to overthinking something is a revelation thank you 🙏🏻

Thanks Clark for your inspirational words!! You tell us to balance the fire and water, sometimes being fast and sometimes allow to be slow. 💖✨

Life gets better 🙏🏻 and we all go through or ruts. You’ve accomplished so much more than others because you’re self-aware of overthinking. Watching this video 🤙🏻 means you understand your problem and want to be better, which is amazing!

Thanks for this video. I looked up a lot of videos on "anxiety", but not overthinking. This helped me a lot. I overthink constantly... it's bad.
